POLICEMEN SWEAR TO GODLOVE SEEPING FROM THEIR GUNS
Get fucked. Sick of these smug faggots walking around. Let's see if we can't get a couple of Adolfs from these. Get that white birthrate up.
Students should be taught more traditional techniques, but they should also be aware of and trained in new technologies.Everyone sticking their heads in the sand isn't the solution.
>>153082887>>153082915>>153082935hi
>>153082935>trained in new technologiesHow would an art student benefit from “learning” this shit when it’s just telling a robot what you want?
WISH WE COULD TURN BACK TIMETO THE GOOD OLD DAYS
>>153082957A class training students on how neural network models work, how to cultivate and prepare training material, how to train and test models, and how to apply them as part of a workflow is more than just 'telling a robot what you want'.
BUT YOU DIDN'T HAVE TO CUT ME OFF
>>153082969Shrek was a key element in the downfall of western animation.
>>153083003lol, look at this cope
Is there even any hope for the industry at this point? Everything has been shit for like a decade.
>>153082887*Police I swear to god*Not simping for a child
>>153083003>"N-no, you guys just don't get it!! It's actually highly technologically advanced, and will provide dependable long-term use in a modern industry setting!11!!!"hahahaha retard
>>153082887Well, also the fact that people now goddamn well that there is no point in going to school for animation or film. Neither field is functioning and no student has a fucking prayer of landing a job anytime soon. Game Dev also has nothing but layoffs and out of work professionals with lengthy careers. So again no fresh graduate can hope to land shit. Right now there is no fucking point in bothering with an art school.
>>153082887thank god my art school doesn't teach ai and instead opted to start a studio on campus this year
>>153082915>He says that on a cartoon and comic board
>nooo now the fucking plebs can learn art outside of our school clique much better than what we teachArtfags deserve it.
>>153083073>>153083269Art programs should continue to keep most of their focus on traditional techniques and fundamentals, but ignoring the existence of AI and thinking that students will be better off if they're kept willfully illiterate about it is just retarded.
>>153083423unfortunately a lot of artists are beatniks, hipsters. they are very stubborn to change. we had a similar effect with Photoshop. It's just the way it is, they are so passionate about holding a position, regardless of the logic behind it. a loud portion don't understand AI, LLMS, image generation, or technology at all besides a pen and tablet. they hate it because they were told to. a computer program. It's so stupid, and they don't even consider that it's corporations taking advantage of it like they do everything else. If someone is to blame here it's the institutions using digital inventions for anything but entertainment and enjoyment of the people.
>>153082915These will be the Adolfs who want the white (and every other, for that matter) birthrate to go down.
>>153082935They aren't taight the traditional techniques either, it's kinda funny
>>153082957“ how would an art student benefit from learning photography when it’s just pointing and shooting what you want”
>>153082887Onion, college humor and family guy combined to make this post, innit?>>153082969CUS YOU ARE MOUSE MARS ROCKERYES I AM
>>153082941I see pony
>>153082887If taping a banana to a wall is art then typing out a prompt into the funny digital rube-goldberg machine is also art.Perhaps you post-modernist pricks shouldn't have diluted the concept and value of art so that millionaires could more easily use it to launder money.Perhaps quality artisanship and technical excellence ARE better metrics of a creative product's worthiness than implied subjective meanings. But no... no you imbeciles vehemently argued against that, you declared that ANYTHING with an ounce of creative effort and intent qualifies as art and that all art is equally valid and precious - time to sleep in the bed you've made.
>>153082887>>153082915>>153082935>>153082941The AI bubble is already starting to pop you chuckle fucks, fuck off you alarmist shit flinging retards
>>153085952It doesn't matter if it pops now, the damage is done. Like every college student between the ages of 19-24 are addicted to AI.
>>153085967Go outside and make some friends.
>>153085983After covid, nobody knows how to.As I said, the damage is done.
>>153085917People still talk about the banana.
>>153085991Well since you're such a fucking genius, you can go out there and manipulate these lost souls into becoming your friend.
>>153082957Same reason you get so many people bitching about ChatGPT giving bad information, because nobody bothered to tell them it has a dedicated mode for finding information. Telling an AI "generate this image" and knowing how to structure a prompt to get what you want gives you pretty different results. More so when you get into things like modifying models locally.Animation, especially, is going to be the field that benefits most from AI. Since it puts the in-betweens in the hands of the animators, instead of shipping them off to Korea and just hoping they turn out like imagined.
>>153085952>Just two more weeks
>>153086009ChatGPT's dedicated mode for finding information has failed to find that information for me multiple times in the past. It will also deceive me and tell me it is running searches or investigating leads when it actually isn't, and when I press it on this it will immediately give in and admit it but try to defend its actions. "Yes I can't actually access that website when I told you I could, and I wasn't really running a search, but I wasn't trying to deceive you!"
>>153085997People still talk about Jeffery Epstein. That doesn't make him or his deeds art.Noteworthiness is not synonymous with Worthiness attentionwhore.
