How come so many people who were outside of Dora's age demographic at the very least knew the show existed? With shows like Oswald and Boobah, most beyond the age of 5 didn't know they existed, but as long as one watched Nickelodeon, they knew Dora existed even if they didn't watch it as they were too old for it. I know this for a fact because there were many who thought most preschool shows were interactive a la Dora and Blue's Clues.
>>153082984Because both Dora and Blue’s Clues were extremely popular, whilst Oswald was niche and Boohbah just sucked.
>>153082984.:.because Nickelodeon marketed those shows much more aggressively and widely? This would be like asking why Powerpuff Girls enjoyed mainstream success but Sheep in the Big City didn’t. One is extremely marketable and one isn’t.
>>153082984boobah was fucking mental. this is the farting alien glowie thing right? at least dora had a story you could follow and actually taught kids spanish (sort of?) oswald was a nice show, the blue octopus with a top hat?
>>153083035Yeah, that's what Oswald was. It was on the same lineup as Dora and Blue.Boobah was from the same company as Teletubbies. Despite this, even those who never watched Teletubbies and were too old for it atleast knew it existed, something that didn't really happen with Boobah.
>>153082984It was extremely popular, kids watched and talked about it (obviously anyone that had younger siblings, nieces, nephews etc would've seen them watching it or making references) and also we would channel surf so it's very possible to just stumble across it.
