The Venom people actually liked hasn't existed for over 20 years. Think about that for a while. It's pretty sad.
I'd say at least thirty. But you know that's really not out of the ordinary for big two characters sad as that is.
>>153083315No one gives a fuck about comic symbiote anon. They only care about THAT venom.
>>153083726The cover is so fuckin' stupid and I love it. It's a perfect distillation of edgy [good] from the 90s.
>>153083738It's eye catching. It does what a cover should.
>>153083315>The non-mutant superheroWere the X-Men that red hot back in the 90s?
>>153083830The xmen carried all of marvel on its back. And to a lesser extent Danny ketch ghost rider, punisher and spidermsn.
>>153083315The Daniel Way run?
>>153083830>Were the X-Men that red hot back in the 90s?More like since 1981 until 2004
>>153083830It was a Turtlemania thing as much as an X-Men thing, people who weren't there can't begin to understand how big TMNT was.>>153083839Ghost Rider and the Punisher being THAT BIG was largely confined to within comics, outside of a few toys and that Punisher arcade game and it only lasted a short time, but so many of the Marvel oldfags that are still around came in during that time that a lot of them seem to think it was always like that because it was like that they arrived.>>153084169In the 80s, a lot of other Marvel books like Hulk, FF and Avengers were still selling well, plus you had things like Miller's Daredevil, Simonson's Thor, etc. By the 90s Marvel just started putting most of their star artists on X-Men or Spider-Man books and intentionally neglecting everything else. By the second half of the 90s the Heroes Reborn/Return books proved Marvel could get those heroes to sell again just by putting star talent on them.
>>153083315Villain Venom stopped being a thing by his 6th story.
>>153084700Probably should have stopped after his second story
>>153084678>It was a Turtlemania thing as much as an X-Men thing, people who weren't there can't begin to understand how big TMNT was.The Turtles are mutants /because/ of the X-men
>>153083315Nah, I didn't become a big Venom fan until Venom and Flash bonded.
>>153084947And ninjas because of Miller's Daredevil. Neither of those facts were really known by the kids who made TMNT such a huge success, it's just background trivia. TMNT wasn't big because X-Men was big, nor some idea of the word "mutant" being inherently a big money draw.
