I don't get how he became the breakout character. When I was reading the book I found Manhattan to be the core of the book alongside Ozymandias. The others I saw as narrative devices. It's not that I didn't find all of them complex and fleshed out, Rorschach included, but his popularity stems from being "badass" and in my experience he was too retarded and inconsistent to be badass. Comedian was more of a "raw sigma" if one goes for the vibes. I guess the mask-&-trenchcoat outfit is so cool the GA just bypasses the rest. But dunno, for me, the protagonist of the book is either Ozymandias or Manhattan, and the "literally me" character IMO was Nite Owl.

Holy shit.Rorschach doesn't believe in god and doesn't believe good or evil inherently exists in any way whatsoever, but he WANTS them to exist so he will force them to exist by his own actions: he will enforce them like they exist because he wants them to exist and it's not like the universe's natural structure deserves any respect over what he imposes on it. That is the point of the reveal and he is VERY consistent about it. He literally believes in good and evil only in the way he personally defines those words and rejects everyone else's ideas. Imagine me drawing him as a gigachad here, I'm not going to bother.
