The official reason they gave for gender swapping Tech Jacket is that the male comic version looked too much like Mark, but that's bullshit, the real reason is so they don't have to adapt Anissa raping Mark, hear me out.Anissa raping Mark in the comics served the purpose of them having a kid that would stay on Earth as Invincible while Mark goes to space to be viltrumite emperor, that won't happen in the show.People can already see that tech jacket is being set up to be Oliver's romantic interest, a big departure from the comics, where he marries a space lobster because he has the hots for insect people. Oliver ends up being killed by Thragg, but I think in the show, he'll stay on Earth because of his relationship with tech jacket, and by the end, he'll take over the mantle of Invincible, thus having no need for the rape baby.
