Daredevil #1 triples Batman #8 in sales on Bleeding Cool's Weekly Bestseller List for comic stores.
Marvel and DC each secure four spots in the top ten, with DC claiming fifth at eleventh place.
Superman/Spider-Man #1, Deadpool April Pool's Day, and Bizarro Year None also chart high in weekly sales.
Rankings reflect real sales data from 120+ ComicHub shops, focusing on Wednesday Warriors sales.

he new Daredevil #1 launch, buoyed by the TV show, blind bag, Stephanie Phillips on TikTok, and Lee Garbett's correctly spelt name, did the extraordinary; it sold three times DC Comics' ongoing Batman series, which takes the top slot every week it's published, as long as Absolute Batman isn't. Superman/Spider-Man #1 was still selling strongly from last week. Marvel gets four of the top ten, so does DC, but DC gets a fifth in eleventh place thanks to the vagaries of this week's charts… and also adding Marvel's comedy one-shot Deadpool April Pool's Day and launches for Captain
Marvel and Bizarro, thanks to Kevin Smith.

So to make more money, you need more blind bags.

All I’ve seen on Facebook and instagram is people saying they bought 5-10 blindbags of daredevil.
>>
>>153089186
It's the blindbags.

If it was just the creator, that doesn't explain why her Phoenix and Planet She-Hulk both cratered.
>>
Also you are comparing a relaunch 1st issue with a 8th issue.
What did you expected?
>>
>>153089186
its just the blind bags

rich always kisses ass with marvel freelancers cause he gets inside scoops from them
>>
>>153089048
It means constant number #1s and cancelling and relaunching with a new #1 at the drop of a hat. It just incentivizes the worst behavior from the House of Ideas. It's bad enough we are already doing relaunches after just 10 issues now. If Marvel could get away it, every issue would be #1.
>>
>>153089560
I’ve called him out on how anytime DC has any kind of success he shits on it but if Marvel has any he sings their praises and he did this weird pivot saying Scholastic sales dwarf both marvel and dc.
>>
>>153089581
>It's bad enough we are already doing relaunches after just 10 issues now.

And based on that recent Slott interview or whatever, it sounded like Marvel was considering five issues being the limit
>>
>>153089560
>>153089590
Not just that but years ago Cebulski was suspected of being Rich's insider a few times
>>
>>153088999
Marvel are never ever going to stop with the constant cancellations and #1 relaunches because Marvel fans are braindead and fall for it every time.
>>
>>153089621
Remember when he published an article claiming it was a “leak” for Death of X but it was really just a /co/ shit post?
>>
I still say DC dropped the ball on NOT making the other promo rings (Phantom, Gold, Ultraviolet, Universal)
>>
>>153089048
>>153088999
Oh great. It was bad enough variant took over. Now every comic is going to have fifty blind bags. Ugh.
>>
>>153088999
This just tells me Batman is selling sub 90K because we know Absolute Superman is below 60 which means daredevil did like 130~
>>
>>153091719
>because we know Absolute Superman is below 60
Where are you getting that information?
>>
>>153088999
oh wow a #1 with a fucking blind bag sold well, incredible

it's the speculator bubble all over again

I never take #1 sales seriously. After six issues is when I really start paying attention.
>>
>>153091741
When they said their sales data for the absolute line it breaks down to Absolute Batman selling oodles of noodles and the rest selling decently at first it tapering hard. Either they sold under 100K to begin and have held tight or they sold high and dipped which is more likely because Thats the sales trend for every comic.

Every absolute title outside of about is logically averaging under 60 by their own stats.
>>
>>153091793
>the bullshit math again
Fuck off Rich
>>
>>153091841
Actually I did the math myself in one of the prior threads faggot.

Why are you so offended by this? What stakes do you have in ignoring reality?
>>
>>153091841
Why not try to prove it wrong anon? Or like refute it in any way rather than crashout like this?
>>
>>153091848
any "math" where your starting point is "numbers I made up" is automatically invalid.
>>
>>153091876
Are you implying DC made the numbers up?
>>
>>153091876
I asked you a question faggot. Why do you take this so personally? If you’re not a shill or Scott snyder’s bitch ass then youre fucking pathetic because you have no fiscal stakes in this discussion yet act like im destroying everything you built.

>>153091893
He did this in the “we shipped 8 million issues” thread. It’s either a shill or snyder himself Im dead serious.
>>
>>153091913
>Why do you take this so personally? If you’re not a shill or Scott snyder’s bitch ass then youre fucking pathetic because you have no fiscal stakes in this discussion yet act like im destroying everything you built
NTA, Rich, but it’s bullshit that you’re pissing all over actual good news in the industry that is based on people actually reading the comics and enjoying them yet getting a massive boner and popping Champaign when a comic does well based solely on blind bags and other speculator bullshit.
>>
>>153091741
>>153091841
Rich actually said they averaged 69 each and didnt account for absolute Batman 1 selling half a million, nor any of the number ones doing over 100. This lowers the 69 average significantly. Let alone if the next two or three issues of Wonder Woman and superman did well.

It’s really not that offensive or out of the blue to say sub-60. I don’t know why youre so angry.
>>
>>153091936
>Champaign
So are you saying DC lied about how well absolute #1s sold or are you saying they lied and actually shipped more than 8 million?

It’s one or the other.
>>
>>153091936
Again, why are you so offended?
>>
>>153091950
>>153091968
>>153091990
Because, again, Rich, you’re trying to push the idea that “actually, Absolute and Energon really aren’t -that- successful” but then Marvel has something successful based solely on blind bags and speculator shit and you try to frame it as some big win and that it’s not just because of the blind bags. The industry needs more things like Absolute and Energon, things people are excited to -read-, not things that they’re just going to file away and hope they magically become valuable someday. Do you know how many posts I’ve seen in comic readers Facebook groups asking if they should even open their daredevil blind bag? Or how many posts where people said they bought like ten copies of the blind bag?
>>
Are the blind bags that successful? Or is it another retail smoke screen?
>>
>>153092078
>r-r-rich
>mass replying
>still melting down
Just kill yourself already faggot
>>
>>153092117
Is it really mass replying if every post replied to belongs to you?
>>
>>153092078
Apparently people aren’t all that excited to read either considering theyre at the normal top 20 numbers lol

>>153092108
Much like the pre-implosion gimmicks it works, sure, but it’s degenerate shit and nobody should celebrate it. Daredevil will be dragged out to 700, Phillips kicked off within a few issues after that and relaunched.
>>
>>153092108
Unfortunately. Blind bags and boxes are super popular now for some reason, I don’t get it but I also don’t get gambling either so I’m not the target audience
>>
>>153092136
>i-i-its all you!
It’s honestly so sad how belligerently mad you are. Im sorry. 60K is great! Actually it’s 69 like rich actually said. 69 per issue, including the number ones, is a massive success! Let’s celebrate. Youre absolutely right.
>>
>>153092138
>Apparently people aren’t all that excited to read either considering theyre at the normal top 20 numbers lol
I mean when you’re making up the numbers they can be whatever you want, anon
>>
>>153092138
>Much like the pre-implosion gimmicks it works, sure, but it’s degenerate shit and nobody should celebrate it. Daredevil will be dragged out to 700, Phillips kicked off within a few issues after that and relaunched.
I meant sales to costumes, it may have been a huge sales-to-retailers, but they may end up collecting dust somewhere like all those X-Men 1.
>>
>>153092078
Im only >>153091950 (You). All I did was point out he said a different number. Have a good evening and an even better Easter anon.
>>
>>153092155
>Rich seething Marvel’s fallen to #3 publisher
>>
>>153092169
Iirc these BC Rankings are sales reported from shops they’re in contact with. We don’t get the diamond lists anymore and haven’t for a while so we actually have no concrete numbers beyond what companies self report.
>>
>>153092176
You too, anon
>>
>>153092179
Did DC or did they not say they sold 8 million copies? Do we or do we not know Batman sold at least 400K?

Nobody is making numbers up.
>>
>>153088999
So basically fractions Batman is selling TERRIBLY, right? If it’s selling only a, ahem, fraction, of this?
>>
>>153091950
So he was being generous to them and it’s still only 69 lol
>>
>>153091848
Could you repost or link to your math, this sounds interesting
