Just finished Final Crisis, what did I think of it?
>>153098717How much of it did you understand?
>>153098717Best superhero event comic.
>>153098746It was shit
>>153098733All of it
>>153098750Incorrect.
>>153099105>>153098750Riveting discourse
>>153099153Welcome to /co/.
Bunpmp
Man, what a great thread…
>>153098717>a fridge?
>>153098717What’s up with Morrison being “non binary” anyways
>>153103132he was always a bit of a poofta
This has been up for so long and nothing? Colour me surprised
>>153098717I find the more I read it, the more I appreciate itthough the first time I read it, I didn't read death of the new gods and seven soldiers before it, which are pretty much mandatorythe reason it's so nonsensical in parts and hard to follow is because reality is breaking down, and also because morrison loves those time/space breaking down, the nature of stories and humanity in general themes
>>153105460>Death of The New GodsI thought Grant retconned that completely, alongside Countdown To…
>>153105460Didn't FC pretty much ignore death of the new gods?
>>153105521>>153105537yes, sorry I should have been more specific. the context provided is that the new gods are dying to usher in the fifth world of humans as gods, though many of the events of that comic are irrelevant to final crisis
>>153098746>>153098750Both are true. It was the best event in cape comics, but it was still terrible.Event comics need to be a culmination of storylines consisting of talented creatives doing their best work in tandem. This is not what happens. Instead, it's a clusterfuck with inconsistent art and writing and too much editorial enforcement.
>>153105645Are there “events” outside of “cape comics”?
>>153105726Yes, in collective stories it isn't uncommon, League of Legends had ruination.
>>153105760League is just fantasy capeshit
>>153098717It's the 2nd worst crisis event just barely above dark crisis on infinite earths. Darkseid is built up to be an unstoppable evil and jobs to a bullet and a whistle. Then when he dies some evil space vampire shows up to get staked. It didn't feel like a crisis it barely felt like something important. Crisis is worlds will live. Worlds will die. But this was eh darkseid is doing something maybe
>>153106381>Then when he dies some evil space vampire shows up to get stakedConsidering that monitors were being used as a representation of the editorial, who or what Mandrake was meant to be?
>>153106589mandrakk was just entropy wasn't he? the end of all things and all stories and all of existence
>>153106777Yes, but he was also a corrupted monitor.
>>153098717>sweet darkseid has been defeated!>so that's the end of-->who the fuck is this guy?>where did he come from?>what do you mean he's from a tie-in issue?
>>153106381Infinite Crisis was worse. Also, Identity Crisis and Heroes in Crisis exist.
>>153107712>Identity CrisisThe only character that didn't ruin, was Palmer, possibly thanks for last minute rewrites to put all the blame on his ex wife.
>>153105521>>153105537Weren't the problems here because of Countdown, Death of the New Gods and those other minis being built out of Morrison's early notes for Final Crisis, but he once again didn't communicate with anyone working on the other books so they didn't know his plans had changed?
>>153098717Caca.
>>153098717apparently not enough to make an actual thread idiot
