Is Spiderman and Black Cat’s relationship always doomed to fail?
>>153099101peter is the biggest fag on any and all earths for picking mj or gwen over felicia
>>153099171If he had picked Felicia, someone like Kingpin or Tombstone would put 2 and 2 together after seeing Peter Parker going out with Felicia in civvies, or seeing Black Cat gloat to Mary-Jane Watson for no apparent reason. Then they'd send Hobgoblin to blow up Aunt Mays house.
>>153099101Used up whores will never be good wives.
>>153099101Modern peter is so boring. Bro knows he lives in stolen land. Stop virtue signaling all fucking day.
>>153099101yes, but not because the characters haven't been written that way, but because writers are too fucking pussies to commit to it for a long period of time fearing it will actually stick
Yes. Writers who were Black Cat fans have tried to walk it back over the years, but from the outset she was a character meant to only be interested in Spider-man, not Peter. Felicia could only ever love one half of Peter, whereas Mary Jane loved both of his sides
>>153099101Probably because Felicia is a canon bisexual whore?
>>153099101Are Spiderman's relationships always doomed to fail*
>>153100197True!
>>153100197>Gwen gets killed because editor thought that making Peter a husband would make him unrelatable to readers>Felicia gets hit by combination of her bad luck becoming uncontrollable and >>153100281 because editor at the time was MJ-shipper>MJ-fag editor gets their win and has Peter marry her>subsequent editors chafe against the marriage with various attempts to move past it from Clone Saga to having Peter and MJ live separately but still technically together>then Quesada who is butthurt about his own IRL-issues and torpedoes that marriage >Peter gets turned into eternal incel and foreveralone loser whose various love interests take turns cucking and humiliating him because apparently Marvel editorial loves that stuffSpider-man's relationship are forever doomed in the main ASM-timeline, best you can hope for are spinoffs like Marvel Adventures where Peter is allowed to be happy with loyal girlfriend like Chat or more recent USM-run
>>153099101The opposite. Felicia and Peter are destined to thrive together.
>>153099101No, they need at least on AU where they are together though. It's crazy that it hasn't happened yet, especially considering how popular it is right now with people being put off by MJ.I'm not counting that What if, she does in it and her married Silver Sable
>>153101693Nobody is put off by MJ except Lowe, Brevoort and Feliciafags.
>>153099101yes because this is capeshit. Best you get is some AU. This applies to every character with a "main girl" even if their relationship being rocky due to cheap melodrama
>>153099101not at all. in fact peterfel is what we all want and also the characters.
>>153099101>Is ANY Spiderman relationship always doomed to fail?
>>153099101How about this: Norman Osborn decides to clone his son Harry, but the clone turns out female and this new female Harry reeeaaally wants to get married to and have kids (plural) with Peter Parker. Could it work?
>>153099785
>>153099101Yes. They’ve broken up so many times over the many decades. Feliciafags need to finally realize it can never work and that is how it has always been.
>>153099101 they have history and decent chemistry because of felicias aesthetic and design. But, I dont think it work out. It would be Interesting though, PETER is to much work for Felicia. It would become too much to deal with and If she ever got pregnant I could see her aborting the kid. Then peter finding out then they break up.
Unfortunately. You know, I want Peter to date She-Hulk at least once
>>153102249Was the wells run the first time since bnd they dated again?
Felicia just needs to date me and everything will be fine.
>>153099101 Marvel editors dislike the idea of 616 Peter Parker being in a relationship and dread the idea of 616 Peter Parker being married and having kids. They would do everything in their power to prevent it from happening. Allowing his child to be kidnap and killed, making deal with a devil, and etc are all fair game if 616 Peter Parker remain single and a loser.
>>153099101Since Marvel is doing everything they can to force her into being a full-time lesbian, yes, it's doomed.
>>153099101Other way around.Peter and Felicia are perfect fit for each other as civilians and supers.
>>153102347They were fuck buddies during Slott's run. Nothing serious though.
>>153101632This image annoys me because Spider-Gwen is used instead of 616 Gwen. Spider-Gwen was like 16 when 616 Peter is around 30. Still agree with the message though.
>>153103517gwen is gwen, and gwen is ded
>>153102437Why can't a bisexual woman have a boyfriend?
>>153100503>more recent USM-runthat still ended badly
>>153105932In real life, she can. In modern comics, it's not allowed, apparently. Almost every bi character gets trapped with same-sex shit and then that's the end. In a sense, I get it. You make a character "bi," it's this big mark that the writer will indelibly have on the character for the rest of time, and Xitter, Reddit, whoever, cheers. Now the character is getting queer representation, so they need to stick with the gayness because it hasn't been done for that character before. The instant the company turns it around, they're going to be demonized with the same group they just made happy, and accused of queer erasure. If you jump back to a straight relationship, you can't feature them in Pride specials and such, without poking the bear of the "problematic" trope or stereotype of bi people being non-committal and cheaters. The only solution is to call them "bi," put their hetero relationships in the rear view mirror, and hope the queers are offering up enough of a sales boost for it to be worth it.
>>153106384I also don't mean to sound shitty saying "the queers," I don't mean it as a slur. I just mean people across that whole spectrum who care about it in comics. Genuinely no problem with non-hetero people in general.
>>153106384>>If you jump back to a straight relationship, you can't feature them in Pride specials and suchNot really. Despite the retardation, I remember Black Cat was featured in a Pride story while she was back with Peter for that very small period of time.Although I will say there's clearly a certain push for bis to always be in a gay relationship rather than straight.
>>153099101>>153100281Another thing that's dawned on me is that Black Cat was almost always submissive to Spider-Man in the og comics, Like Peter would not tolerate her shit and Felicia would actively try to change for him like a lovesick puppy. Now it's almost a complete turn-around in having Peter be a complete pussy while Felicia is a dominant indepedent woman, who can bring him to his knees and make his question his morals by just slightly flirting with him
>>153106607no offense but you gotta read some more comics bro, peterfel found a middle ground quite a while ago
>>153099785Anyone they send gets a can of superpowered whoopass slathered on their ass. mjwhore HAD to be silent because she was civvies without powers, Felicia doesn't, and can keep aunt may protected or sent to some farm upstate
I'm pretty sure the only current writers that actually want them back together are Mackay and Kelly and editorial/other writers always undermine it. Like Kelly was forced to include the stupid nurse at the start of his run and just used the "open relationship" excuse to have Peter and Felicia start dating again.
>>153106499Literally in that Pride special that I think you're talking about, they have to work around how it happened before she actually started dating Peter again. Are you talking about the one with Gambit and the Thieves' Guild? The whole "relationship" with Peter gets nuked from orbit for no reason anyways, so Felicia can go fall in love with Amelia in Jackpot & Black Cat, anyways. (And have MJ remind her she's never seen her so in love.) >Although I will say there's clearly a certain push for bis to always be in a gay relationship rather than straight. That's really all it is for me, I'm frustrated seeing characters with extensive histories changing their sexuality, and then their personality changes to remind us of that every second. I've brought up the Felicia thing in other threads before, but the industry-wide problem bothers me more than it specifically applying to Black Cat.
>>153106870>I'm pretty sure the only current writers that actually want them back together are MackayUh, he's literally more responsible for making it so they can't be together than nearly any writer in her history. He started, or at least codified, the stretch of Felicia's lesbian relationships.
>>153106890It's crazy how rare it is too see bisexual women in /co/ in straight relationships. Ramona flowers is the only major character that I can think of (alongside 1 or 2 minor ones). In real life it's the standard, and normies would support it, but the queers have a weird pathological hatred. Why is it so hard for them to say "bisexual women in straight relationships are valid". All the so called bi pride seems to point in one direction.
>>153106870>the only current writers that actually want them back together are Mackay and Kellyand Peterbros.
>>153107554I don't think Ramona is really bi. She says it was just a phase, which means it wasn't anything serious.
>>153099101You can't ask that here. It's full of people who have never recovered their brains after OMD.
>>153106607Felicia's most defining character traits up until the 90s when she got with Flash were being mentally unwell and being bad for Peter. She didn't become good until she missed the boat, tried to get with Flash out of pettiness before realising that she actually liked him.
I'm still mad about how their relationship ended last time>"We're healthy">"Yeah">"We're not challenging each other">"Okay?...">"We should break up"What?
>>153108002I meant the Takes off version, it's pretty much stated that she it wasn't just a phase in that one.
>>153106952Yeah but he also did the Beyond books that tried to throw them at each other.
Because Felicia, by her nature, can never truly settle down and be the "endgame" for Peter. That's why she's so alluring to the modern writer, she represents a love interest that will never "age" Peter because they will never marry and never have kids. She is for fooling around with and nothing more.Beyond that, MJ is and always will be the defacto love interest because she married Spider-Man and it was a big deal, AND she was his primary love interest in the first set of movies. She's cemented in the cultural zeitgeist as being Spider-Man's wife, just like Lois Lane is for Superman.
>>153108051Really dumb, especially since Paul was with MJ.They had the best opportunity for a proper long Peter/Felicia relationship and would have no resistance from readers and instead they threw it in the trash. Correct me if I'm wrong but I remember the paul hate really picking up after Peter and Felicia broke up.
The sad irony here is that Felicia is perhaps the only Spidey supporting character to get character development in years. Outside of baiting fans, the only reason why they can't function as a couple is due to writers pretending nothing has happened in decades
>>153108100the cool part is felicia has obviously grown and ha matured and can be for peter AND spider-man. she can handler herselfthe retards at the spidey office know this and can't undo that but they can start giving MJ fucking luck powers or a fucking symbiote so they can go back to the will-they-won't-they bullshit but everybody knows they can't get married because editorial. so they might as well just let felicia be the long-term gf instead. but they won't but they have no excuse, they compliment each other well, they respect each other, and felicia is built for breeding so every teen boy would buy more comics, but they're all too retarded and would rather get mogged by 24 months of an alt universe spidey or aboslute dc
>>153108051They love each other as friends but nothing more than that. Friends with benefits. They're not a couple. Which is what they've been for 80% of the time they've known each other when Peter wasn't married. You should be happy that Felicia gets Peter every once in a while and MJ can't be with him because Marvel editorial will never want to give marriage talks another chance to get traction. They went scorched Earth because they changed their mind about it during Spencer's run.
>>153106384>without poking the bear of the "problematic" trope or stereotype of bi people being non-committal and cheaters. Can’t be a stereotype if its true.
>>153108134>>153108145based felicia is great for peter but writers are fags hivemind
>>153107554Ramona's the first one that comes to mind for me too. I tend to give books that aren't Marvel/DC a bit more credit for not falling into this entirely. My complaints are mostly about the big two, mainly because long standing characters get destroyed, but other publishers don't really have that, with a few exceptions.>>153108002A "phase" would be better writing than we get now. Betsy Braddock hooked up with her boyfriend's female clone one time from a horny writer, but according to vocal social media people, she's always been queer coded thanks to that, and it has to stick. So, Betsy's gay now. She'll never leave Rachel. The only reason they're not married at this point is because neither character is popular enough to make it into an ongoing, and they have too many other characters that overlap their initial purpose.(I'm more mad about Betsy than Felicia.)
The sooner you realize that Peter will never be in a long term relationship with ANYONE the better. He will have a different girlfriend every run so he'll be having sex with more women than ever before. MJ will always be that ex that's now just a friend. Felicia will always be the occasional fuck.
>>153108115No way, the Paul hate was intense pretty fast when it was clear it wasn't a quick turnaround.>>153108157Honestly, not that true, from experience. That's why I hate it. Even if it's true, it's a negative stereotype online that the big two want to try their best to avoid.
>>153108145She's still not the settle down type, which means she will never be able to tie Spider-Man down. In Marvel's eyes this is a good thing which is why she gets to date Peter when she's not lezzing it up for Pride Points. If Marvel ever did relent and decide that Peter can have a long-term relationship and settle down, there's literally no reason (from a marketing standpoint) why they would ever pick Felicia over MJ. As I said before she is the defacto love interest and nothing can change that.Giving MJ powers is just a symptom of a larger disease in which modern writers are just incapable of writing a civilian supporting cast so they give them all powers.
>>153108051clearly Pete&Felicia love and understand each other in ways nobody else can compare, but Wells absolutely had no talent for writing them he wasted a whole year doing nothing.
>>153108321This is what it all comes down to. He's gonna be a bachelor for the foreseeable future
>>153099101she's his biggest relationship from a while ago almost a decade or more. it's only the execs fear of commitment and success that's blocking them.
>>153108426>>153099101>>153106798spidercat is clearly endgame. they've grown to a point it's beyond physical or games and not even "breaking up" could actually separate them since they were talking with their bond intact barely two chapters later
>>153108533not sure if clearly but if not definitely they should be
One of the problems Peter x Felicia has is the stranglehold Peter x MJ has on some fans and writers. I mean I get it there’s a reason it’s his most popular ship but I think it hampers some writers from just going with Felicia because “Well we HAVE to have Peter be with MJ or the fans won’t like it…”Like in the Noir comics. Peter and Felicia had great chemistry and it seemed to be endgame or at least was his most viable ship. But the newer stuff has him get with noir MJ. Like, come on, it’s an AU just go for it. Especially since in one comic she literally calls him her “My stupid, brilliant, wonderful boy”. That’s like the most in love thing she could say about him
>>153099101They can't pull it off with the same nuance as Batman and Catwoman.
>>153108873Why don't they try for a Peter x MJ x Felicia throuple? It's not like superheroes have conventional relationships anyway, so why not keep Peter and MJ together to be a married couple/start a Family, but Felicia also lives with them and bangs both of them?
>>153108915I dunno, maybe cause throuple’s aren’t really that main stream? Personally I just kinda see it as a meme. No hate to those who legit ship it but it’s not my cup of tea
>>153108897dc copied from Felicia actually
>>153108873Peter x Felicia are the most popular ship and of greatest compatibility/chemistry. The usual idiots will whine and seethe about it, but they're idiots bro.
>>153099101yes
