>>153109175I'm not absolutely certain how much he's been using assisting artists over the years, and how many of the strips are actually done by him vs. his assistants. But I think it's mostly his team working on the comic these days. If you meant art assets instead of assisting artists: recent strips show signs of digitally copy/pasting elements. For an example, here's a strip from 2004 and 2020. Each frame in the 2004 strip is slightly different even though the image is entirely static. Minor lineart details vary since each frame was drawn separately. Meanwhile, the 2020 strip is done by copy/pasting. Garfield's expression in the last panel is modified and the shading on the couch is unique in each panel, but otherwise the lineart is an identical match in each panel.I've seen modern strips where some of Garfield's bodyparts were very obviously copied+flipped/rotated in different panels instead of redrawn. It made me wonder how much drawing there is involved in those strips, or if it's mostly just drag-and-drop.
