Joker has been accreted to some supreme hegemon of tactics and psychopathy, but he simply CAN'T pull it off. It becomes more and more contrived the more it's pushed. "one bad day" is probably the best concept to wrap him around, but the clown prince of crime really needs a hiatus.

literally all they gotta do is
>make him have an actual character arc
>make him the comic relief and not the big bad final boss
>make him a surprising threat still
that's it. Do those. Have him play second fiddle. Have all the other villains look down on him. Have him flounder and falter. Make him the most common escapee from arkham because he's the one that geta caught every time he tries anything. Let him develop over time, get mad that he's ineffectual, let him surprise bats once, have a laugh, let him reform even just a tiny amount towards the end, even if he stays a deranged psycho that's unforgivable. Just make him something other than "the absolute super duper machiavellian 1000iq sociopath that can beat everyone effortlessly". Quit that.
