>>153115253What were they thinking with U.S.Agent's new outfit?
>>153115652Who knows. I have a fondness for the Maximum Security-era Judge Dredd knock-off with energy shield though.
>>153115253>>153115307Not gonna lie, I'd prefer to see most of these characters back in action, (with all the crap that's been done to them undone) over a lot of the people Marvel and DC are pushing these days.>>153115320This is just the original version of Guardians of the Galaxy, they existed for decades. I know the modern version is more well-known now but are they really that obscure?>>153115652>What were they thinking with U.S.Agent's new outfit?"Let's try to give US Agent more of his own visual identity and move away from him looking like a Captain America repaint". Whether you think this was a good idea or not, that was the general idea. They were trying to build a line of Iron Man spinoff books, so they reinvented US Agent for to move away from his roots as a Cap spinoff character. It's actually one of the last times Walker was consistently treated well.
>>153115253Teams are shit!
>>153115253Force Works was just West Coast Avengers
>>153117647Guardians 3000 do a few changes like Starhawk (?) becomes a woman randomly mid-story and a new speacial character. Explicitly, they aren't the OGs but one of those close enough analogues due to stuff that happens in the story. And Force Works got back together briefly as part of the Iron Man 2020 thing.
>>153117661>Force Works was just West Coast AvengersAt first, but it added a number of OCs who sadly never became official Avengers members.>>153117814>Guardians 3000 do a few changes like Starhawk (?) becomes a woman randomly mid-story and a new speacial character. Explicitly, they aren't the OGs but one of those close enough analogues due to stuff that happens in the story. So Guardians 3000 is an AU version of the original Guardians, not a continuation? The original Starhawk and his wife Aleta were originally bonded in a way where only one of them could exist in the physical world at a time, after they were separated she did take on the Starhawk powers at one point in the 90s run. Was Guardians 3000 doing a new version of Aleta or was this some other female Starhawk?>And Force Works got back together briefly as part of the Iron Man 2020 thing.US Agent was the only returning member from the original team though.
Rogue's X-Men Squad aka "This isn't gonna blow up in my face" spoiler: It did.
>>153115652And giving him a Halberd too
>>153117661Pretty much yeah, I think in universe they're just them renamed too. I think they wanted that team to be more distinct from Avengers rather than having two Avengers books.
>>153118553That is Century's Parallax. U.S.Agent's new equipment was energy shields. He could use two at once, and called it out with Shield Ignite....I almost wrote Sentry. Why are their names so similar sounding?
>>153118740You've gotta sound out all the vowels in "Century", man.
>>153118740Oh I thought the Halberd was on his back for a sec
>>153118523>Rogue's X-Men Squad aka "This isn't gonna blow up in my face" spoiler: It did.I'm assuming mostly due to this nigga right here?
>>153117814>And Force Works got back together briefly as part of the Iron Man 2020 thing.Only US Agent and War Machine came back
>>153119099Mystique and Lady Mastermind too
>>153119106War Machine wasn't actually part of the original Force Works team, except for in the Iron Man cartoon, which had Rhodey and Hawkeye, but no US Agent.
>>153115253I've always wondered if Moonraker could work as a real character instead of plot device.
>>153119099Of course. Rogue thought she could fix him kek.>>153119261And Cable, it was the start of the Hope plot
>>153119099>SabretoothFirst to betray. Couldn't not REEEEEE at Logan and they end up fighting. Storm disables him, takes him to Wakanda to seperate the two, Sabretooth escapes into the jungle.>MystiqueRevealed to be a mole and a member of the new Marauders and working with Sinister, then reveals she was a double agent really working to help Rogue in secret and Rogue gets pissed off due to her lack of loyalty and touches her and almost kills her>Lady MastermindBetrays the team for the Marauders and is disposed of quickly>CableDiscovers that the reason for the Marauders attack is because Sinister has the first mutant born after Decimation. Cable steals the baby and fucks off leaving the team to sort the mess with the Marauders.>Omega SentinelStayed associated with the X-Men for a long time even after Rogue's team broke up but was eventually turned evil again
Ibis the Invincible, Ice, Indigo, Isis, and faithful sidekick Itty team up to form The I-Squad, the only DC superhero team where everyone's name starts with the letter "I."
>>153119670The power to negate events seems difficult to balance.
>>153119671>>153119864I barely even consider what Cable did as betraying the teamHe just went MIA after he blew up Providence, he was assumed dead for a few weeks and worked on his own for a bit But what he did wasn't nearly on the same level as the othersHe didn't try to kill any of the X-Men, he didn't shoot anyone in the back or set them up for an ambushHe just kidnapped a baby before anyone else could steal her
Exiles V3 deserved better. Or at least not to be cancelled in like SEVEN issues.
>>153121216Stealing a baby and going runoft is st least dereliction of duties. Also kidnapping. Can't he having it.
>>153119864>Rogue gets pissed off due to her lack of loyalty and touches her and almost kills herBased. FUCK that whore and her bullshit.
>>153115320Any GOTG after Bendis is probably this
>>153122058But then later on she takes her back, this is way later outside of that run.
>>153123193Doesn't she always? Mystique's such a fucking snake.
>>153119670Probably depends on which version of the character was meant to stick around after the dust settled, a superhero from an AU who was Spider-Woman's love interest, or Libra from the original Zodiac wearing that guy's body. It's similar to the Xorn twist in the 2000s, they introduce a new character people seemed to like, but then there's a twist turning the new character into a plot device for the return of an old character.>>153121148I think that's a power someone gave Libra in later years. Moonraker was just an acrobatic guy with electric powers.
>>153115253I remember Force Works from old reruns of the 90s Iron Man show. I think it was first exposre to Hawkeye, Spider-Woman, and the Sentry.
>>153124637Century =/= Sentry
>>153124728Can we meme this into a thing until someone at Marvel accidentally brings back Century instead of a planned Sentry relaunch? It's surprising Abnett and Lanning never revisited him in their cosmic books. Someone in Avengers editorial in the late 90s really hated Force Works though, and was probably still around.
>>153124728>CenturyWhat? That's a different guy? I've been living a lie.
