Let's post stuff that have Mascots that from other medias.
>>
Why is there two versions of big boy?
>>
>>153118463
The black haired version is the original, commissioned by the Big Boy founder.
The redhead version was a redesign by the owner of the first franchised location.
>>
>>153117853
I never ate there but I remember the commericals.
I also remember when McD's fries used beef tallow and when KFC used to taste good.

>>

T and F for Tastee Freez, and yes, they apparently are still around.
>>
>>153117853
I didn't know Big Boy was real. I thought it was made up for the Austin Powers movies.
>>
>>153122007
Didn't Simpsons have its own Big Boy expy? You don't remember that?
>>
>>153118603
KFC still tastes good, it's just that Popeyes put it to shame is all, also KFC is still thriving in Asian markets.

I'll take the Kamen Rider scarf version.

I was never really into The Simpson. I've seen a lot of episodes just because they were on, but I don't remember anything about the besides the characters.
>>
>>153123775
Speaking of, remember when US dennis used to be the mascot for Dairy Queen?
>>
>>153123701
He had a red scarf all the way through the ninties and I never noticed, huh?

Not quite. They're all things R&D came up with. Only Carmella Creeper made it into production and, as far as I can tell, nobody liked it. It wound up at reclaim grocers like Ollie's and Grocery Outlet pretty quick after release, which is unusual.
Not sure it's still made or not.

I always hated marshmallow cereal but I'd suffer through it to try a kiwi-flavoured cereal.
>>

>Only Carmella Creeper made it into production and, as far as I can tell, nobody liked it.
If it tastes anything like the "candy apple" flavoring they used for the Wicked cereal, it's probably pretty awful.
>>
>>153123701
That 1970's design is very telling of the times
>>
>>153117853
We used to have a Big Boy near us that my grandmother would take us too because she liked the buffet. It wasn't especially good really and they closed down a long time ago but I still remember it. I miss my gram.
>>
>>153133143
Thats granny smith apples for you, if they used fuji or at least honey crisp it would've turned out better.

Only the six from the top left actually existed as commercial mascots. See >>153132735
The others were designed and their respective cereals might have been made for development but they never got the green light to go into production.
>>153133143
Yeah, that's another one that wound up at Grocery Outlet quick as a kitten queef.
We go there for expired milk for my wife's cheesemaking. At 34ยข/gallon, it would be foolish not to.

>Yeah, that's another one that wound up at Grocery Outlet quick as a kitten queef.
The only reason I know what it tastes like is my regular store had it marked down to a dollar, this from nearly 5.They don't even but the leftover clearance cereal that low, not that they mark that down much.

He admits to struggling with this one

>And of course, I have to kick off the new concepts with the one who is a default member of the "monster core", the Cinnamon Cookie Creature!

>Now...I agonized over this name. As you'll see in the days ahead, I tried REALLY HARD to make sure any new additions would work with the overall existing monsters, especially their original designs. And while they are very different from each other (and, in fact, very different from themselves in every new appearance) there are a few common bits of design language: they are LOOSELY based on classic monster designs OR the well-known horror actors. most of them have fairly round eyes with eyelids. They are based on traditional breakfast foods/flavors. The designs feel like a cross between Rankin-Bass puppets and vintage Looney Tunes. And the names are puns or alliteration incorporating both monster and food, with the name referring to the CHARACTER, not the food per se (i.e., "Creature Crispies" doesn't work.)

>So I tried Key Lime Creature, Citrus Creature, Crunchy Candy Creature, Lemon Creme Creature...I wasn't feeling any of them and not making him green in some fashion takes away a lot of his appearance. Then I realized that his flecks of gold (shown in the rediscovered Life Magazine pics, that were restored by my buddy @KerryGammill) could be cinnamon sprinkled all over him! Problem solved! I also liked making him a laid-back surfer dude (he HAS been known to hit the (sea)weed!) Zinc on his nose might be going a bit too far...
