ITT: Good pages and/or lines from modern comicsModern is defined as 2000 onward. I would include the 90s, but it’s sort of its own beast. I just want to be more positive about the strictly digital era of this stuff.Gonna start with a few of my own

Silliness is okay tooJust pages that you like, or in general think are good for one reason or another
For some reason I think about this panel often
>>153119860RIP to a Marvel among men. It's an utter shame Herman and Elaine never got to interact more after Uncanny Avengers, oddly Shocker really benefitted character wise in the past 10/14 years compared to lots of other heroes and villains.
>>153120948He's in a comfortable spot in terms of personality, motivations, threat level and appearance where he is distinct, can play somewhat different roles depending on the needs of the story without feeling OOC, and comes off as sympathetic.
>>153119829This page does rule, but I think the page where Matt kidnaps drunk Tony and calls it a team up is actually the best page in this cut-too-short run.
>>153121077He's essentially the perfect career criminal of the setting and it helps that he's one of the more consistently characterised and written now even if some traits get tweaked writer to writer. Like he finally got his niche that nicely followed up from his depiction in Deadly Foes of Spider-Man which I feel kinda set in stone a lot of the elements utilised in his modern writing like Superior Foes or any of his other prominent modern appearances such as Uncanny Avengers, Ms Marvel or Zdarsky's Star-Lord.
>>153120948Nobody stays dead in gomics, not even Paul Rabbi
>>153122580I still get choked up reading this sequence. For me, Spider-Man can end here, it's a perfectly fine place for me to close the book on Peter's story (and means I never have to read or acknowledge Sins Past or One More Day/Brand New Day).

>>1531246122 of 2.
>>153119850wow, Doom facing the Celestials and trying to be their equal, he's nearly as good as Machine Man
>>153124621>>153124612this is extremely good, not overwritten, not overwrought, until the final cop-out because it has to stick to the status quo and not kill off an IPin a world that allows comic books to change and grow like they haven't really done in 40-50 years, this would be the end of Shazam and the start of something new
So far, none of these are good. Just empty platitudes.
>>153123643In an earlier issue, Sparky merged with the Matrix to save Optimus, now their souls are basically one. Sparky (Spike's father) aids a plagued Optimus Prime within the Matrix, acting as a guide against a virus. Sparky reveals his past struggles and helps Prime realize the infection aims to isolate him. Sparky ultimately sacrifices himself to save Spike and purge the Matrix, allowing Prime to awaken and protect humanity.
>>153125235lots of gay vibes from these two gay guys (homo)
>>153124892The entire comic book takes place in the "past" and narrates how Captain Marvel and Superman first meet.
>>153119829Give me a sec.
>>153119829God I miss AXIS
>>153126901Well?
>>153128530He needs prep time.
>>153127574That was a fair first guess.
>>153121158It ended because Fraction is a hack who thinks Tony can do no wrong, actively trolled people who hated Civil War by saying Cap deserved to die and who explicitly went out of his way to destroy what was supposed to be Toby being absolved of Civil War by having Tony, post brain reset say he had no regrets for the Carnage he caused and the betrayals he engaged in because he was pissy that Disney was forcing it to salvage the Iron Man comic after Civil War made Tony irredeemably evil.Had Superior Iron Man continued, Tony would have found new ways for Tony to do beyond the pale evil while shitting on and brutalizing anyone who criticized him.
>>153119829
>>153119850What makes this retarded is that he had the Beyonders powers at this point, and the Beyonder hand-waved away everything that ever was in the known universe. He could kill the celestials by thinking it..
>>153130005Is Savage Avengers worth reading? The characterization of Conan and Doom is so good in this scene, I'm tempted to read the whole thing.
>>153130473It's a fun ride. Don't take it too seriously, just go along with whatever bullshit happens.
>>153129929Fraction’s Iron Man had ended several years before Superior Iron Man. He wasn’t even working at Marvel when Superior was a thing.
>>153130473If you like that dogshit page, you'll probably like the shitty comic it comes from.
>>153119829I want this version of Tony back.
Bump
>>153133081Where is this from? This is the first time I’ve seen the full page, but the last three panels live in my head rent free and got posted constantly a while back. I really want to know where it’s all from.
>>153130005I want more Conan in marvel
>>153132435Has there ever been a steeper drop off for a writer than Saladin Ahmed
>>153130005Terrible.>>153134104Fuck off. Keep Conan out of capegarbage.
