Who was in the wrong?
Captain, I cannot avenge my partner’s death with this peashooter
>>153131376Ho just mad it worked
>>153131547anything, even nothing at all, works. it was a perfunctory false alarm meant to cap a rousing speech delivered by an acme of mental acumen, an Ulysses upon his fatous and fatal return to Ithaca, not this oversized ignoramus glutton american calf*angryly throws sunglasses*

Good evening. Our guest tonight is AFL-CIO chairman George Meany, who will be discussing collective bargaining agreements

So this is what it feels like when doves cry
>>153136805i don't get it
They used to do fantastic wordless comedy. There was actually one recent one where they take a 1970s muscle car on the road and blow a Prius with a Coexist sticker off the road with the sheer force of the horn.
>>153136518Well that depends on you mean by cwisis.
That cameo with the Baldwin brothers and Kim Basinger
>>153138656I still can't believe she did ass to mouth
>>153131326Basically the entire episode Bart the Fink, it's incredible. If I had to pick one moment it's Handsome Pete, that floored me laughing the first time I saw it. But the haunted house opener, the tacos, the running gag with the idiotic bank costumes, Sydney Greenstreet's Cayman Islands bank, the pornography auction, "nothing to see he–oh my God, a horrible plane crash! Crowd around!", Herschel Krustofsky's Clown-Related Entertainment Show, IRS Burger, all classic gags to the point it feels weird that they're all in the same episode.
I want it all, the terrifying lows, the dizzying highs, the creamy middles. Sure, I might offend some of the bluenoses with my cocky stride and musky odors. Oh, I’ll never be the darling of the so-called city fathers who cluck their tongues, stroke their beards, and talk about “What’s to be done with this Homer Simpson?”
>>153138847when I was a kid, I loved the "oh crap!" line so much

I don’t understand. Everyone loves rats, but they don’t want to drink the rats’ milk?
THERE ONCE WAS A MAN FROM NANTUCKET
>>153133313This is genuinely what network television and many YouTube, podcast, etc. shows actually are these days. Some clown holding an interview.
>>153140058Dankmus is a treasure.https://youtu.be/9HXT7fDkf9I?si=IrAW4MOAknlzu13W
>>153142356That's what they were back in the day. Hell look at old tv ads for upcoming shows. Right into the late 80s they were just clips from dramas. No chirons, no graphics, no sfx, no interrupting VO guy reading out what's already on the screen because back then, people looked at the screen, and listened to the dialogue. Was it better? Depends. Is it the same as YouTube or whatever? Yeah, kinda. Low production costs mean basic production values. If you're not hiring a guy to produce your ads, they're just clipshows. The difference between network tv then and YT now is, theoretically, back then you'd get voices out to discuss current events (or whatever). Now you just have people making noises in between the ads that paid for them to be there. The actual content no longer matters because the theory is that engagement trumps content, though with the rapid decline of ad revenues for digital - faster than the decades-long declines trad media endured before digital "killed" it - it's seeming more and more like the "engagement" model, just as the ratings-chasing model tv killed itself off with, is doomed. You're gonna outlive YT and FB and all that shit. The internet will just be something else.
>>153143654Almost at perfect post for the Abe Simpson It'll happen to you! pic
>>153131326It would be easier to pic bad moments from the classics. The only two real sour note episodes are the one where Bart gets hit by Mr. Burns's car and the one where Homer goes to Capital City to perform for the baseball team. And even those two are better than the dreck to come in the later years. I still love Principal Skinner's quip, "I don't care what anyone says. I still think they're the best tater tots money can buy!"
>>153143018This is my favorite one.
>>153143654>engagment shit will die offWe can only hope.
>>153144074The "Put it in H" part unironically slaps.
>>153137376Have the Rolling Stones killed.
>>153144516But sir...
>>153144778Do as I say!
>>153131326My favorite quote I think was a treehouse of horror with the evil krusty doll. >Marge! Marge! The doll is trying to kill me and the toaster has been laughing at me!" Favorite earliest episode was the Micheal jackson episode and later was the pulp fiction episode.
>>153138897Ah Ha! Alright buddy where did you get the sugar for that tea! I nicked it for the split second you let your guard down an I do it again, goodday.
I’m sorry Mr. Burns, but I don’t go in for these backdoor shenanigans. Sure, I’m flattered—maybe even a little curious—but the answer is no.
HERE’S YOUR CROWN YOUR MAJESTY

>>153139415one of the most memorable one offs
>>153143975A little past the classic era, but Saddlesore Galactica was a lame episode that I liked at first as a dumb kid but I hated this joke even as a dumb kid.
>>153145226
SEE YOU IN HELL, CANDY BOY
>>153144835
>>153158209don't know why, the "amen sir! mmm!" always gets me
The Krusty rerun when the Falklands are invaded.
>>153146942QUEEN OF THE HAAARPIES!
>>153159939No I'm not...
>>153131326My favorite note:Dear Marge, You got a butt that worn quit, they got these big chewy pretzels here raaahuuru FIVE DOLLARS!? get out of here ...
>>153159231One of those things that always gets me for some reason is a frightened Lenny going “Sharks! The assassins of the sea!”And then going “Oh, you’re not sharks. You’re dolphins, the CLOWNS of the sea.”I think it’s his delivery and the needlessly insulting dismissal.
>>153135899>look into any form of electricity generation>it's a garbage fire killing everything>especially garbage disposal

Is it a good decision to stop watching Simpsons once you're done with Season 10?
>>153165152I typically stop after Season 8
>>153165152no, there's good episodes in every seasonby season 20 it's something else entirely, not like the early seasons, not like the middle seasons, but as good as anything 3-8 for the most part, and light years ahead of 12-17it's never the same again, but then if it was you'd be bored
>>153131460>I don’t want to hear is McBain, that CANNON of yours is against regulations. In this department we go by the book!>Bye book
