You'd think the Vampire King would drain her and toss the carcass but he keeps the body around and even starts plucking out the arrows, again with no blood on them.It could be that this was a deliberate attempt at keeping her death ambiguous in case they got the chance to do something with her down the line, like bringing her back as a vampire. I don't think the writers have a whole multi-season storyline planned out but I do think they have plenty of ideas and so try to keep as many doors as they can open in case they get the chance to do something with it down the line.
