What went wrong?
They got gay and their content sucked after like 2014
Fun FactOne of Death Battle's most popular animators got "promoted" to do actual Rooster Teeth shows, fucking hated the experience, every time he mentions them he talks shit about them, etcIn contrast, he still loves the people behind Death Battle even after leaving for actual professional industry work
Guys who had no idea how to animate got to run an animation studio and didn't have the smarts to cash out before those that knew even less came to take it from them
>>153134141>What went wrong? It's creation, and no Red vs Blue wasn't good
>>153134141They got official. Took all the edge right out of them.
>>153134207The first few seasons of Red vs Blue were great.
>>153134141internet culture and the way media being distributed online changing

>>153134435It really is just thisNever sell out kids, unless you're done with whatever you're doing and want to move on with some extra cash
>>153134141We lost Monty Oum.
>>153134182I believe you, but can you give a source? That sounds hilarious.
>>153134141Everything.
>>153134141If you can't make money for 9 years it's hard to keep a company running
>>153134700The animator is Torrian Crawford
>>153135063I thought that would be him.I remember him being their 3D guy, and also seeing a clip of him really frustrated with the work he had to do on RT’s gay mecha show.Hope he’s doing well.

Coom boards are redAnd Jew boards are blueLet's take a tour down 4Chan avenue
I still miss RWBYit was trash, but it was MY trash
Too many bearded liberasts
>>153134430That's no excuse, adapt or die.
>>153134694This. Oum was a diamond in the rough, and is arguably the only reason later seasons of RVB are remembered.
>>153135664>Be me>2006>Be into RvB>Avoid 'weeb shit' because my faggot fucking friends have fooled me into thinking its gay>End of 2012>RWBY's first trailer drops>'Whatever, I just wanted more RvB'>Like a fucking dumbass, avoid RWBY at all costs, but know it was there, in the background>2023>RT nearing death>RvB had gone to shit long before that>I have forgotten about RWBY by this point>2024>Browsing /trash/>See /RWBY/ Thread, and remember the shows existence>'The show's dead, just like RvB, right? >>153135664The only thing worth a shit RWBY gave us was a meme miss intemperating Ruby as being homophobic
>>153134141Grew to bloated. Sold out to mega corporate.Internal issues.Talent lose in general.Actually successful groups like Achievement Hunter became bloated and lost their charm.Kept releasing flops.
>>153136018My anime club at school was fat chicks watching slice of life dramas so I never got into it past watching Toonami when Mom wasn't around to turn off DBZ and Tenchi Muyo.

>>153134141Literally everything.
>>153134141They learned an absolute horrible lesson from their time with Monty.Monty was a rare exception of someone who made work his entire life and personality so he never complained about long hours and massive crunch and loved the praise he got for it. The higher ups just assumed every animator would be cool working in the same conditions Monty did which lead to RT eventually getting the awful reputation of treating its animators like shit. The Glassdoors reviews and Gen Lock being complete shit were the beginning of the end and RT honestly never recovered from that point, which we now know is a fact as apparently the company didn't turn a profit for nearly 10 years before shutting its doors.
>>153134141They got too big and "professional". Also Gen Lock in particular killed em.
It was literally always a complete cesspit, it just caught up to them at last. The only thing they ever made that was "okay" were the first seasons of RvB. RWBY? Dog fucking shit from beginning to end, by the way. It didn't "get" worse, S1-S2 is the single worst animated product to ever get a mainstream fandom.
>>153134141Women, unfortunately.Really sucks the old RT had women that were good at their job. I think it all started with someone complaining about certain jokes in the show and it was a slow decline from there.
>>153134141Overspending
>>153134182What was it about RoosterTeeth that was so awful?
>>153134435>>153134667Blaming WB is kinda retarded when you learn they just bled money years before that deal. The answer can be described as simple as "no one knew how to run a business", both in terms of managing a good working environment and managing their own financials, no one knew how to run a fucking business.
>>153138351>worked animators to the bone>1000s of hours of unpaid overtime>false promises of full time positions only to kick people to the curb in the 11th hour after working them to the bone>extremely unprofessional behavior(for a supposed "woke" company slurs were apparently common place in the office)>misappropriation of funds due to lack of proper oversight>non-onscreen employees were treated as 2nd class citizens
>>153135685Good morning
>>153134141When they started adding women/black people to Let's Plays
>>153136018I only started watching it because my sister asked me to watch with her. It was nice at first, had some cool battles and dramatic moments, some cool characters and all, but the last season is pretty bad. I've never seen a single person saying they liked it.IMO it sort of lost its spirit when Monty (the creator) died, in other words, pretty early on. I can only imagine he would've taken it to a different direction than it did.At this point, just let a Japanese studio handle it, and pray for the best.
>>153138544What is this trend of western people making pseudo-anime ?Avatar, RWBY, High Guardian Spice, Invincible, Punch Punch Forever.
>>153134141White people
>>153134141Got gay and corporate
>>153139706They see it's popular among their intended audience, so they try to copy it, but the result is an often subpar product.RWBY was moderately popular in Japan as far as I know though, which is something rare for stuff that tried to be anime. Also, I think Monty legit just loved anime, and wished to do something in that style since it inspired him so much.
>>153139706Invincible is just capeshit with an extra serving of gore and swearing so you know it's for grown ups (but no boobies because that's TOO mature)
