Why do people dislike the sequel?
I went and watched both movies last night and I thought everything was pretty much equally awesome.

it was less "dislike" and more "didn't know it existed". the marketing for it was terrible.
>>

The novelty peaked with LEGO Batman and died off soon after.

if the queen was actually evil , it would hit 2 billies

I actually really liked the anti-twist and also thw twist twist that she was just the heart emmet gave the aliens
Also these movies get 50% better if you also stop to look at the scenes for what they are; a dad and a son/a brother and a sister
The little sister kept the gitt her brother made for her and made it the queen of her lego world and I find that really adorable

I liked it, the first movie was just stronger.
>>
>>153138777
Homestly yeah the first movie had more jokes and stuff while the sequel was a bit more emotional
>>
>>153136565
Is there a supercut that combines both movies
>>
>>153136565
Who likes this shit aside from dumb kids? I only watched the first one and it was so fucking gay.
>>
>>153139148
No I just watched the two one after the other lol
>>
>>153136565
It seemed much darker and more negative to me and my son.

To be honest I saw the 2nd one as a teen and I remember being totally embarrassed during the depression version of the everything is awesome song, and I used to listen to the normal version on repeat everywhere at all times of the day
>>
>>153136565
Ignore the negative reviews, they're from musical hating chuds
>>

Shut up, retard
>>

That's an awesome reprise tho it doesn't take itself too seriously during the sadder part and during the second half its more of a hopeful song about staying strong which I really like.

I think all the songs in this movie were pretty good! Not Evil is a highlight. It's basically the sister saying she just wants to play with her brother but they have an awful communication problem so because she is trying to sound cool and ominous(cuz it's what she thinks her brither likes) the song also starts sounding malicious and evil-like

alot better than earworm song

The real world twist works for the third act of the first movie but doesn't work for an entire sequel. Something about the Second Part goes too far with the meta element and it falls flat on it's face.

I just realise that all the master builders are specifically the son's own legos that don't fit in the aesthetic of the city i.e. justice league, the green ninja, mermaids, metalbeard, etc
Them being forced away from the city is just the dead giving them to his son because they don't fit with his perfect city build

right? I feel silly now because it's kinda obvious
I just sorta assumed they were just cameos with no real thought
