April 13th is the 10th anniversary of The Unbelievable Gwenpool. It's only 5 days away. When did you first learn about Gwenpool? When did you first read The Unbelievable Gwenpool?

>When did you first learn about Gwenpool?
Probably when the Deadpool Secret Secret Wars covers was announced.

>When did you first read The Unbelievable Gwenpool?
I was in the storytime thread for issue 1. I remember thinking it was fine, but I was unsure if I'd keep reading. Then issue 1 ended with Cecil getting obliterated by Modok and I needed to see what would happen next.

No matter how much I dislike the character, I can’t help loving the costume
Seriously, is there anything comparably memorable from the past ~10 years? Maybe Spider-Gwen, I guess, but Marvel being Marvel trashed that old costume for a shitty new one.

Hard to believe it's already been almost a decade. It hasn't been the easiest decade for Gwen but still great to know she still has her fans after all this time
>When did you first learn about Gwenpool?
I was introduced to Gwenpool the same time as everyone else with the variant covers, though I never imagined she'd become one of my favorite characters based solely on that first intro
>When did you first read The Unbelievable Gwenpool?
I think it wasn't until after Unbelievable finished its original run, actually, I sadly got in late to the game and missed all the original storytimes as they were happening. I forget what prompted it, but I think it was probably seeing pic-related. It got me intrigued as to what Gwen's deal was and from there I started reading. Loved it from the get-go after that, Unbelievable Gwenpool is easily one of the best books I've read in a long time (especially from Marvel) and Gwen became Best Girl from then on

Nice /co/llection of Gwen trades
I have the first one but I've always had difficult finding the others at cons/stores, at least for an affordable price.

What I want more than anything though are the Japanese trades as seen in OP, getting these five trades for Gwen would be a dream for me.

Do you have any favorite single issues from her original run?

For me I really love the penultimate #24. It's a fun final team-up between Gwen and Batroc, who was my favorite among her supporting cast and the one who gave Gwen a real chance at the beginning. The heist story is very fun, making clever uses of Gwen's newfound panel-powers and some great interactions between Gwen/Batroc. Also does well in setting up the stakes for the finale as Gwen realizes she can't cut it as either a hero or a villain and is faced with the impending doom of her series ending.
>>
>only one decent fanfic with Gwen and Superboy
>its set up in Worm setting for some reason
>only 3 chapters and on hiatus since October 2025
I just want more fun stuff with these two teaming up
>>
>>153141408
>Superman/Spider-Man teamups this year
>Superboy Prime is in them
>Gwenpool is at least sort of spidey adjacent with the Gwen Stacy connection (and even if that's a stretch it's no more so than other characters) and would fit
>Golden opportunity to have the two IRL characters team-up
>They don't take it
it's a special kind of hurt
>>

I feel it, bro. There is so many angles to take this, with them being comicbook bros or hot blooded rivalry over "nuh uh, MUH comics are better". Editorials are complete dumbassess to not try do anything with this idea.
>>
>>153141298
24 is my favorite issues too, but to be different I'll say the final issue of Gwen vs Doctor Doom storyline, I think that's issue 23. It was the only thing I even remember from the time of Doom as Iron Man. The heart to heart they had was nice, and the end of the issue revealing that the book is getting cancelled was memorable.

My least favorite issue was the one where Gwen saves the village of monsters from Blade. The art was ass, and it very much felt like filler just so there was at least a one issue gap between Gwen's friends abandoning her and their reunion.

I also really enjoyed the Gwen vs Doom storyline. It defined Gwen's powers nicely, showing they still had their limits and how she had to be creative in using them, and also really liked how she called out Doom's 'very clearly temporary stint as a good guy' because it's aged so well. That's one thing to me about Unbelievable that makes it feel timeless despite featuring narrative flotsam like Jane Thor and Good Doom: even if these things are obviously/clearly temporary, the idea that comics will always have their gimmick runs, and short-lived experiments will always be a constant is completely accurate. While still using Good Doom to serve a good point in that Gwen doesn't have to limit herself to either being a 'good guy' or a 'bad guy' to survive as a character.

>The Blade issue
I actually quite liked that one. You're not wrong in that it was filler, but they'd just completed a big arc with M.O.D.O.K. being dismantled and Gwen at a low-point, a lower-stakes romp felt like a necessary breather at the time and I enjoyed the humor/twists in it.

My choice for least favorite issue would be #15 with the dwarves/crystal. Its the same artist as the Blade comic, but I just wasn't at all interested in the dwarves lore and especially for the issue where Gwen tries to make amends with Cecil (the first friend she burned upon arrival) it felt like he in particular deserved better. I liked Robbie/Kate's involvement but wasn't a fan of Cecil's resolution being turned into a furry.

I had this idea for a short-story between them where Gwen and Clark 'meet' via reading each other's comics.
Marvel as a setting still has DC comics, DC as a setting still has Marvel comics. Both Gwen/Clark visit comic-shops of their respective universes, Clark sees a Gwenpool comic and starts to read it while Gwen picks a Superboy Prime comic and does the same, and then they see each other reading their own comics, and then slowly realize they can communicate by talking and reading each other's panels/speech bubbles in their separate scenes.
Kind of like a 'Lake House' thing

In the Gwen vs Prime debates I like to imagine that Gwen will sometimes drag in America to have her agree with whatever her point is against prime (America only reads One Piece, DBZ and trashy isekai)

Who should Clark have as his comic illiterate backup who’s only role is to agree with him without knowing anything

He nearly made an appearance in the Dark Gwenpool comic from last year, the writer wanted to use him, but editorial demanded Spider-Man instead
>>
>>153147112
The more I hear about that comic the more leeway I give the writer. He was working with the dumbest fucking editors on the planet.
>>
Is there any chance at all of a reprint this year? I've been trying to get it for ages.
>>
>>153147266
I doubt it. We got the omni a few years ago, and that will probably be all we get for a decade.
>>
>>153147266
I wouldn't count on it. I have no idea if Marvel even registers it's Unbelievable's 10th this year, do they do anything for anniversaries?

>Then issue 1 ended with Cecil getting obliterated by Modok
It was a great way to end the first issue. Really set the tone by taking all the wind out of Gwen's sails and making her fully aware this world ISN'T just her playground. When Gwen fucks up there's consequences for her, or other people.
