let's be real, there's no way the Netflix cartoon would've done this justiceshould I bother reading the sequel novels?
>>153138295Pretty sure the only way it could possibly be done correctly is if it were an independent production with Jeff as an executive producer. I don't trust any major studio to do it right.
>>153138295How hard is it to NOT fucking change things? Especially on a streaming platform where you don't have to worry about exact episode runtimes? JUST. DON'T. CHANGE. THE. PLOT.
>>153140126If you want the exact same plot, JUST READ THE FUCKING COMIC, RETARD.
>>153140196If you DON'T want the exact same plot, DON'T MAKE ADAPTATIONS. The point of adaptations isn't changing the plot. It's presenting that plot in a different medium. In this case, animation & sound make the difference.
>>153140359Changes are necessary to fit the medium, the format, and for ESG scores and stuff like that.Again, if you don't want changes, don't go for the adaptation. It will always change sonething. Why do you hate the original comic so much?
>>153140640Retard
>>153140667That's what I thought.
>>153140640>sonethinglel
>>153138295It would have to be done by Jeff Smith. It's his vision, and even then, he may want to change things being removed from it all these years.
>>153138295Why would anyone want an adaptation or it in the first place? It sold well enough. I can't imagine Jeff needs this
>>153138295>>153138308>>153140126>>153140196>>153143483I think it should be adapted by Glitch, independent, creator involved, released on YouTube episodicely.
>>153143951>I think it should be adapted by GlitchEven with Jeff involved, they could not do it.And from what I can tell, Glitch only does like 8 to 9 episodes for each of their series. Bone would need like more than 20.
>>153144071They don't only do 8 to 9 episodes, that's a misconception. Their creators have said time and time again that Glitch would let them make as many episodes as they want to tell their stories. The thing is that GLITCH is not Disney or Nick, they don't hold their creators to some target 40 to 52 episode number they need to reach for and stretch their story out too.If Bone needs multiple seasons for a series adaption then GLITCH will allow it as long as it's good.
>>153138295I feel a cartoon adaptation could be so good but I don't think Netflix would do it justice. I'm not sure what studio would be the best pick.>DisneyWould make Thorn borderline unwatchable.>IlluminationWould not take it seriously enough when needed to>DreamworksMaybe but they might lean too much into comedic moments>Sony AnimationThey insist upon themselves>Cartoon NetworkDon't even know if they will exist>NickelodeonToo focused on Spongebob, Loud House and shitty live action sitcoms to even take the project
>>153145959The only networks that could pull off a Bone animated series would be HBO in the late 90s/early 2000s or Liquid TV (as a series of shorts like the Maxx). If it came out a few decades earlier a Looney Tunes alum would probably try to make a TV special that just covers the Cow Race, and it would be a 50/50 chance on whether it's good or not.
>>153146226You got a point. A one-off special would be the best bet for now. It's too many things that can go wrong for me to feel confident an adaptation could work.
>>153145959Nickelodeon wanted pop music and magic garden mitts for Fone.
>>153146695>pop music and magic garden mitts for Fone.terrible. would've aged it instantly.
>>153138295This was so easy to animate the character is black and white
>>153138295I think it would have been decent, like Hilda. That was a Netflix animated series with the OG creator involved.
>>153138295Why is every single damn hipster rleadling bone, like it was ever good people are pretending it was good it was not it was mediocre very pretentious. It was like a giant fart
>>153146847>ESL>Mentioned fartsYou wouldn't get it, jeet.
>>153146901You mean the high school level of philosophy. Society sucks blah blah blah emotional issues blah blah blah is a terrible comic that only hipsters are reading because of YouTube celebrities whatever the hell they're called
>>153143951Bone does not fit Glitch’s brand of content, I could only see something like I Hate Fairyland because of its brand of content and even then that is a huge stretch since Glitch’s shows (Aside from Smg4 and Lacksadaisy) are projects not based on pre-existing source material.
>>153143951Honestly that doesn't sound bad, but does Netflix have the animation rights tied up or something?
>>153140126>>153140196I actually would like them to change the plot a bit, at least in the third act. Smiley and Phoney don't really do or contribute much and it pretty much becomes the "Thorn" comic instead of "Bone". Although they should add more character and small moments to Thorn beyond just making her "female Aragorn/Luke Skywalker".
>>153147022Well thats the thing, mostly all original content, yes, but you say that like the concept of an adaptation of a pre-existing work is something they are incapable of. They'd have to start somewhere either way, and they clearly have a solid management structure with creative's having full power in how to tell their stories.Every new endeavor is just a matter of Starting Somewhere in the grand scheme of any company.>>153147036I do not know. I would assume that the rights are in limbo and will have to revert back?
>>153140126Can we change the really crappy and lackluster ending at least?
>>153147673Actually I thought about it and netflex let has TADC hosted on the site, like they don't own it or glitch presumably didn't pay any royalties for that, thats a pretty sweet deal (cause they probably want to buy them at some point) but if Netflix has the animation rights they probably would just give it to glitch (whether or not they would ask for anything in exchange is anyone's guess)
>>153147703The last page is pefect.
>>153147703Oh, now we hate the Bone ending, too? What's next? The ATLA ending? The Gravity Falls ending? The FMAB ending?
>>153147703You're just mad Fone didn't stay with Throne. Grow up.
>>153140126In an ideal world all an adaptation does is add a bit of filler since comic pacing is always break neck when compared to video based mediums >>153149339>The ATLA ending?ATLA's ending was always considered bad cause of the last minute lion turtle. I feel if they had built up to it and have Aang try it a few times before the battle with ozai people would have been more okay with it.
>>153149466>ATLA's ending was always considered badIt's got 9.9/10 on IMDB.
>>153140126>"Fuck you, we're changing it anyways."
>>153138295I’m still waiting for Netflix to release this.
