Sales wise? Yes.

Storytelling wise? He made it worse.
>>
Final nail in the coffin. The best guy they could get to come and write their own take on Batman was Scott Snyder, that's fucking brutal.
>>

Worse than Tom King and Bendis?

Listen, I like Scott, he's one of the nicer writers. Rather him than King, Bendis, Sheridan and Taylor and Waid any day. But one thing that I've noticed with his work is he starts of bombastic, and always ends his runs in a whimper. Happend with his Nu52 Batman run, happened with his Justice League run, happened with Death Metal, and it just happened with KO.

Now I hope he learns from these past mistakes, but I've noticed this pattern with Scott for about 15 years now. Absolute is genuinely a great concept, I just hope he doesn't lead the project into a narrative corner like he always does.

>fanart-inspired bat brick saves DC
Maybe for a time.
>>
>>153140656
That and the other head honchos, who had been there far too long, leaving.

I can tolerate Jim Lee for his minuscule input.
>>
>>153140656
Sure...
>>
>>153141067
You may be right, but Absolute Batman feels like it's escalating well and is building nicely to a confrontation with the Absolute Universe Joker.
>>
>>153141661
Having a direct line from your brain to sharing it via social media is cancer on this World. I get using it to advertise or build an audience, but word vomiting on each other or having arguments online you'd never have with somebody else IRL is pathetic.
>>
>>153140656
Temporary Band-Aid. Absolute isn't designed to be permanent. That's why they're tearing through villains
>>
>>153140656
Well the word 'save' implies DC would be in some terrible danger if it weren't for Snyder. That isn't true, DC would probably be chugging along even without everything Snyder has done recently.

But Scott Snyder pushing both the Absolute line and DC KO has massively helped DC in sales. DC is now the market leader mostly because of the events and ideas Scott pushed.

Honestly I dont think people gives a shit about Snyder, they care about the absolute universe and the big event with all the cameos, could be Snyder or even fucking Tom King and they would sell the same

how is DC saved at all? As far as I can tell this is just yet another relatively brief uptick in a doom spiral
>>
>>153140656
Yeah, sure

>Absolute Batman feels like it's escalating well
Yeah that's the mystery box talking anon but guess what? There's nothing in the mystery box.
>>
>>153140656
Technically yes.

>DC would probably be chugging along even without everything Snyder has done recently.
They wouldn’t.

Before Snyder there was Future State and other crap that wasn’t good. Even Dark Crisis was a joke made fun of by everyone.

Even most of the mainline DC books haven’t recovered and still being held up by Absolute and mainline Batman.

>Before Snyder there was Future State and other crap that wasn’t good. Even Dark Crisis was a joke made fun of by everyone.
Before Snyder? You're literally talking about the waste products of his 5 year justice league "opus".
>>
>>153140656
>DC KO
>Good
Pick one
>>
My problem with snyder is that he is a batmancuck but at the same time he want to be Grant Morrison.
Snyder could write a decent Superman, flash or Green Lantern run but feel like is too scared that his nonbatman comics would sell bad.
>>
Possibly. I think at the very least DC has a lot more runway to experiment with shit because of Absolute’s success. I’d really like to see them take a serious stab at a prestige animated series for Absolute Batman.
>>
>>153144643
Oh how daring and experimental
>>
>>153144643
Didn’t Nick say that he’d love for studio trigger to adapt it?

>Batman should be a heckin wholesome blue collar construction worker with working class parents
>Oh and his mom is still alive because it's current year and we're not putting women in fridges, chuds!
I cannot enjoy Absolute Batman because I know the premise is Reddit incarnate.
>>
>>153140656
Scott Snyder been working at DC for 14 years writing some of their most popular titles ever and I don't think a single one has left an impact.
>>
>>153144845
Not reading Absolute Batman but the whole point of Absolute universe is that even without the point of his origin(Bruce's parent Death+world training, Clark raised in earth by Kansas boomes, Diana raised by Hipolita, the Whole flash Legacy) they still can become a Hero.

American Vampire and the Jim Gordon vs Dick Grayson story.
MAYBE rootworld because along with Lemire he rework the Green/Red(and now Blue) lore. And the Still force is now a thing

That's your ad hoc justification based on the current state of multiple titles, but I was THERE, Gandalf. I was there in 2020 when the narrative on Reddit, Twitter and even Youtube comments was "Batman is the 1% and could solve all crime in Gotham overnight if he just gave away his billions to soup kitchens!". I know where this story is from and I remember who cheered for its existence before Snyder put pen to paper.
>>
>>153145221
>the Still force is now a thing
Telling lies anon?
>>
>>153145221
American Vampire was boring as fuck I don't see how it left any impact
>>
>>153145767
No I can see the legacy in manga like Chainsaw Man and Jujutsu Kaisen with series that starts off with the promise of being interesting but ends with complete ass endings.
>>
>>153145221
>the Jim Gordon vs Dick Grayson story.
The what now?
>Rotworld
The only thing I remember from that was how hot a powerful Abby Arcane was.
