What? Yes it did. Because it never tried to look realistic it avoids the dated CGI problem. The movie is about planned obsolescence and corporate greed. It hits themes that feel more modern now than in 2005.

Someone on /co/ pointed out that there's no "revealing the conspiracy" plot because the chop shop is public knowledge, and that the climax and turning point is just Rodney and his gang exhausting every possible nonviolent solution and instead going to the bad guy's house and killing him as quickly as possible.I think about that a lot.

I have a working theory that whenever a talking point like this pops up about how a nostalgic nerd movie “didn’t age well”, the critic is trying to make it seem like they’re implying something about the movie’s politics, but they’re secretly seething about the inclusion of a fetish character (Aunt Fanny, in this case).

The art direction played into the weaknesses of animation at the time and it looks almost timeless in a way 3D movies almost never do. It's fantastic.Some of the humor is a bit dated but the planned obsolescence storyline aged pretty well too.
