When did it peak? And when do you think it should have ended? What do you think of the current status of the franchise? Do you think Todd is a hack.
>>153155733>When did it peakIssues 50-100 are factually the peak of the series>When should it have ended?Issue 100. Anytime someone asks me to recommend anything Spawn I always tell them to stop at 100.
It should have ended after Spawn killed Malboge.Ending with him becoming the new king of hell would have been peak.
Peaked with issue 10, which I consider the "good ending" of the series.
>>153158098The Dave Sim issue???
>>153157701I like Hines run.
>>153155733Todd stopped drawing interiors after #15, so there. Yeah Capullo's fine, but the selling point was Todd doing the whole thing, kind of loses the appeal once he's not writing and drawing it.
>>153158987Hines run was good and really you could make the argument you could read 1-100, then skip to Hine’s Armageddon arc, and then officially stop. I tell people to look at it as like a “dark knight returns” for spawn if you quit at 100
>>153159249Todd drew interiors for a little while after 15, he just took a few issues off to draw the Batman/Spawn crossover. 16, 17, and 18 are the fill in issues and then 19 and 20 actually came out after issue 21 because Todd fell behind schedule and refused to resolicit. I think around the late 20s Todd and Capullo kinda did a hybrid thing with the art but shortly after that it was Capullo and Tony Daniels alternated issues before Capullo took over full time till 100.
>>153155733>When did it peak?Issue 100, a good closure for his character. If the animated series had gotten new seasons this would've been the finale>What do you think of the current status of the franchise?Eh, you can find a couple of nice things but (overall it's just bad, Cogliostro getting character assassination is the worst (and i assume they'll do it with Nyx now), Cyan is so uninteresting they don't know what to do with her, so many plotlines and setups dropped mid arc or half baked. Also not a fan of Spawn having like his "Spawn club" or whatever with countless Spawns helping him now.>Do you think Todd is a hackYes because he stopped doing interior art, which is why Spawn is at his best visually during the first issues.
>>153158127Probably.
>>153158987>>153160150Qrd?
>>153162668Writer David Hine and artist Phillip Tan took over Spawn back in 2005 with issue 150. Hine’s initial arc was what the entire series to that point had been building to, Armageddon, the final battle between Heaven and Hell, the sole purpose of Al Simmons as a Hellspawn. I won’t get into spoilers but the arc is really a perfect “final story” ala Dark Knight Returns or Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow for Spawn. Unfortunately the series has continued for another 200 issues and counting.
>>153155733Never.
I like the Jim Downing saga
>>153164509badazz
>>153155733It peaked with Deadly Tales of the Gunslinger Spawn.
>>153155733>When did it peak? The Apocalypse/Wings of Redemption saga, A.K.A. the conclusion to Al's story. Mind you, I didn't dislike Jim Downing's Spawn, but it was back to a more street level oriented book with him, and I don't think it topped what came before that.>What do you think of the current status of the franchise?I still tune in but at a slower pace because I don't have as much time to read comics nowadays. I'm planning to pick up the new Dark Ages book soon.
>>153155733>when do you think it should have ended?before the anti spawn showed up, that shit was ass.
