I never got why Oswald was so short-lived for a preschool show, only having 26 episodes. I personally loved it because it was a preschool show where practically everyone was an adult.
>>153160409I want to say lack of marketability, but I’m not sure that’s correct.
I was the target audience as Oswald was airing (weekday mornings) and I liked it but it wasn't special and there was better shit on, since episodes re-aired all the time 26 isn't crazy, but even stuff like Little Bear or Franklin had 60-70 episodes
>>153160409It felt so refreshing to have a preschool show that was an all adult cast. Well except for the baby caterpillar. Even a lot of older kids and tween shows don't have an all adult cast. I never got why annoying Nick Jr. stuff like Franklin, Wonder Pets and Backyardigans lasted longer. Could just be me, but I can't stand child acting. It feels cringy to me.
>>153160468and even with the baby caterpillar, she was voiced by an adult, Debi Derryberry.
>>153160409Genuine question, why do kids networks, whether they're for toddlers or for tweens and young teenagers not like having all adult casts in their shows? Why are they so obsessed with having kids as the main cast? Oswald proved you could have a show for 3 year olds where everyone except one is an adult. I still have no idea why Nick Jr canned it quickly.
>>153160409Does anyone have any guesses on why kids preferred Blue's Clues, Little Bear, Little Bill, Dora, Backyardigans, Wonder Pets and other toddler shows?
>>153161561nope, there is no answers. only the passage of time and unrelenting force of aging and perplexing confusion.or... some kids just prefer other shows.
>>153161561Preferred those over what cartoons exactly?
>>153160430>>153160409yeah some people dont care but making octopus toys is actualy hard. imagine how transformers fans feel when a new product is not good and it does not look nice
>>153163826Okay I'm imagining.
>>153164819that's why i have semi premium Bob the builder model
>>153160409Is the reason Oswald didn't do great was because there were no kids in the show aside from one recurring character?
>>153160409Am I the only one who remembered the fact that there was a dog who looked like a hot dog? Seriously, it feels like nobody remembers this show when you compare it to Blue's Clues and Dora the Explorer.
>>153165981I mean, Sesame Street has a lot of focus on the adult characters and the puppets and has been a long-running beloved show for generations.
