/CO/ I'm having a kid soon and i want them to just watch 80's and 90's era cartoons. What would you recommend to have on the tv for a kid? Pic rel was what i would watch when i was a wee lad.
Congrats! Boy or girl? Not that it matters a whole lot but still.Maybe Muppet Babies.
I remember liking Maggie and the Ferocious Beast. The theme song was really good.
The Magic School Bus.
>>153174138well at her 15 week check up they said boy but i heard at 20 weeks is the de facto surefire way to tell gender.>>153174179i remember this one, i was thinking about doing low stimulation shows cause stuff like cocomelon looks like too high stim.>>153174201i do like that series as well, is the reboot any good?
Alvin and the Chipmunks is one of the many absolute worst franscise to exist.
Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
>>153174340i like the movie what can i say? The chipmunk adventure is a good movie, i havent seen the 1987 series but seen snippets of the newer series where they use cgi and its a nope for me. same with garfield, i grew up on garfield and friends, us. acres and calvin and hobbes anthologies. my parents didnt really like me watching these things but i did it anyway.>>153174398thats going to my list along with bear and the big blue house and roly poly oli.
>>153174046Great choice. 80's Chipmunks are kino. You cant go wrong with most of those 80's magical creature cartoons either. Wuzzles, Smurfs, Gummi Bears. They're all worth a shot.>>153174310The muppet babies revival was full of weird fag shit. Stick to the original. FWIW Tubi is now streaming classic Sesame Street so look into that too.
>>153174046May want to wait a bit for this one, but it’s a fun show.https://youtube.com/watch?v=-9dbAQJIu1o
>>153174779oh didnt think about smurfs or gummi bears, muppet babies i remember vaguely but i never disliked it, classic sesame and then i remember mr.rogers neighborhood was a good one too.>>153174817i'll look into this, i want to curate movies for my kid and shows that i can just plug a usb or hard drive too and they can get like 30 mins of tv. the rest of course will be spent reading or doing other stuff.
>>153174046>80s chipmunk cartoon series Blu Ray release>never
Suggestions aside, don't DENY the kid current stuff just because it's current of course.Might want to wait until they're older but Where on Earth Is Carmen Sandiego? I think there's a reboot for that as well but I haven't seen it.

>>153175008i mean i shouldnt but at the same time so much current stuff is so filthy and corrupted. nothing is clean in the current day i would have less off a problem if it wasnt a big advertisement for the agenda going on in modern times. we didnt see any weird stuff when we were younger thats what is keeping me from showing the kid anything current. although i do like some current stuff like bluey looks alright but i would need to vet it before anything. i want TV to be a treat or a family thing like if i'm watching something for the kids cool, the rest of the time i want them reading it helps them visualize and be more creative versus sitting down and watching tv. TV isnt bad though its good for passing time and being together like movie night idk if you remember those but movie night was nice.>>153175167holy fuck dude i forgot this existed but i used to watch this and comfy couch religously

Thomas the Tank Engine
>>153174779>magical creature cartoonsAlso Monchchichis, Snorks and The Littles, among others.
>>153174046Lotta good mentions already, so I'll throw in PB&J Otter, my sister was born 97' and this was one of her favorites.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4mMPaae1Drw
Original DuckTales
>>153174046Can't go wrong with the classics anon. METV Toons might be your best bet. Good variety of some new hotness and old classics.
>>153185969as much as i love MeTVToons, if I was a new parent who wanted to show my kids actually-good classics, I'd still have to avoid that channel just because of all the commercials. For a new parent, the best bet is something like Tubi - turn ON the Tubi Kids filter, which turns OFF ads. and then you put together a watchlist of the non-slop stuffhttps://tubitv.com/networks/scholastic_tvhttps://tubitv.com/category/cartoon_goldhttps://tubitv.com/category/furry_friendshttps://tubitv.com/category/saturday_morning_cartoonshttps://tubitv.com/category/kid_classics
>>153186628interesting i have the tubi app too never used it but this looks like a good idea to me
