>TFW catdog was a industry plant
>>153180087I feel bad for the CatDog creator. Imagine the network putting so much faith into your concept, enough to order 100 episodes of it off the bat, but then the only thing about it that the majority of audiences care about is the theme song
>>153180087Really just means some executive thought it would be the next big thing and forced it to be promoted.
>>153180260and >Shadman
>>153180260catdaaawwg~cat-dawwwwwg~ mlmlmlmmmmm catdog did i sing it right?
>>153180260>>153180653CatDog is one of those cases where the theme song was so good that it pretty much single handed my rose-tinted everybody’s view of this show. Of course, until they actually rewatched it and realized it sucked major ass.I think there’s a lot of cartoons like that out there: where the memorable banger theme song made everybody who grew up with it collectively look at it fondly.
>>153180610i specified "the majority of people" because most people who aren't terminally online wouldn't associate catdog with the shadman memesto be fair though i also think of it when it comes to the show's legacy
>>153180087Ah, so I didn't miss out on anything then. Always felt like I did. Now, Rocko's Modern Life. Is that a hidden gem or just another pooper?
>>153180087>not that it was a BAD showit was a bad showstop protecting that show just because someone who worked on it might get their feelings hurt
>>153181297It was better than Chalk Zone
>>153181356Fuck you
>>153181366Fuck me? Fuck Chalk Zone. Or Cock Zone, as I call it.
Catdog was one of those shows I semi-hatewatched as a kid lol just because it was on and maybe between shows I actually wanted to watch
>>153181395It was pretty much the same for me. I'd watch it when it was on sometimes, but didn't feel any attachment to it. I didn't hate it or like it really, but it was watchable enough. I pretty much had cartoon channels playing in the background 24/7 though in my room, so I watched everything.
>>153181356I think I must have gotten molested for the first time while watching Chalk Zone or something because I remember really loving it but then all of a sudden something flipped in my brain and any thought of it started to fill me with an ineffable sense of dread that's never gone away
>>153181412Shit bro, sorry for bringing it up then. It might just be the show had an off vibe to it, I always felt kinda weird watching it and I know I wasn't molested. The theme song kinda slapped tho ngl
>>153180653It’s “Alone in the world with a little CatDog”.
Remember that every insane, stupid and/or illogical decision in the entertainment industry has a mountain of cocaine behind it. That is, in fact, the true purpose of the entertainment industry: to keep the cocaine flowing into the nostrils of old, clueless, out of touch business executives, so they can keep spewing out bad ideas that no one likes.
>>153181356Damning by faint praise.
>>153180610What does he have to do with this
>>153181543A meme that gets posted whenever Shadman comes up
>>153181266Rocko is great. Was entertaining as a kid, but one of those shows where you catch more as an adult. Definitely check it out.
>>153180260I remember that Fat Mendoza show on Disney channel. It also had a catchy song. And the Gunmy Bears.
>>153181266Rocko is one of my all-time favorite cartoons. As far as Nick goes, it's up there with Ren & Stimpy and SpongeBob.
What did it better CatDog or Butt Ugly Martians?
>>153180087They probably thought a cat and a dog would be more marketable than a sponge.
CatDog was always a shit show.
CatDog was always an amazing show.
CatDog was sometimes an average show.
Help Wanted didn't have any sober, quiet moments that Dog Gone (CatDog's pilot) had
>>153181950What? Pretty much everything up until the anchovies show up is pretty calm, no?
>>153180087Only thing I know about catdog is tht episode were they find out their oral hygeine is linked and the cat turns himself inside out like a nuckelavee to brush the dogs teeth while he is sleeping.
>>153181984Cat missing Dog at the end of the ep is more sombre than all of SpongeBob (the closest thing would be Ripped Pants' ending)>>153182039>It's Extremely Expensive>And Extremely Painful
>>153182049Shut up, contrarian
>>153181356Objectively wrong
>>153181266Rocko was excellent, but I wouldn't call it a hidden gem it was extremely popular and ran in syndication for like 20 years.
>>153181915>>153181926>>153181949the truality of man
>>153180087Catdog was more like Ren and Stimpy, a known success for them, I can see why a clueless executive would have bet on catdog. Catdog was really quite bad, though, one of the worst of that era of mostly great nicktoons.
>>153181266>zoomers consider classic and extremely well-known and popular Nick shows to be "hidden gems"Fucking grim
>>153181687Easily Catdog, looking back I’m not surprised it was a plant, the show was hyped to be big but from what I remeber people just thought it was ok at best. It did have a good theme song though anyone who says otherwise just has shit taste.
>>153180087CatDog was fine. Certainly better than any cartoon from the past 15 years
>>153182533Nope, retard
>>153180087>Catdog was a industry plantThe original Toriko
>>153180653>And the cat never got that fish
