I just never saw the appeal of lowering your cognitive level for any reason. I enjoy the things I do because I'm able to think about and rationalize them, and I like to converse with and hang out with other people that do the same. The times when my friends would invite me out and they'd get smashed just felt really awkward. They weren't the same people I became friends with, it was hard to recognize them.
