I suppose the idea is that Betty somehow had Seeka’s demon powers transferred to her during the summoning. As thats the only thing that would explain the way the barrier reacted to both, and how as a human she can withstand toon physic levels of punishment.

You know what? I actually don't think that was very good. Betty and Seeka ultimately proved to be incompetent, and did nothing to beat the chainsaw guy. It was all Mary accomplishing things. Like, fundamentally, if this is a pilot for a potential series, this doesn't show the strength, and usefulness of 2/3rds of your main cast. Why does Mary join them? Just cause? If Betty and Seeka actually helped her, and showed they could be good friends and a team, that would make sense. I like the designs, and the concept is cute, but the execution doesn't work.
