She gets another shot at being a plush
Do people care about Emmy anymore, the quality pretty much dropped off after she stopped being an actual maid
>Marketable plushies for a comic that has the worse upload schedule of all timeI mean this in the nicest way possible. This entire shows plot as mid as it is works better as a cartoon he NEEDS to sell the distribution rights to this to a streaming service hell Glitch would be perfect
>>153186022I have not been paying attention for at least a year, is she still trying to get back to her family?
>>153186022Thats the sad part. This series has 100% been hijacked by the fandom for the usage of porn and fanfiction media. It doesnt help between the long hiatuses and the plot that has been going on for literal years is diminishing the brand of this IP which again only has any lasting legacy because of porn.
>>153186041Thats been the ENTIRE plot. They STILL have not fucking found her. With how much real world time has happened because of this series multiple hiatuses her original owner would be a teenager by now.
>>153186022They don't. The last plush failed to sell.
>>153186240Where are the Molly plushies id buy one since shes the best Robomaid
>>153186022I still like her, but I'll admit to falling off quite a bit when the updates stopped being as frequent
Dom, broThe iron is in the fucking freezer dude
>>153186045Hey now this story is decent:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QcKSd6T7HPk
>>153186045>>153186051It's not the fanbase's fault Dom couldn't come up with a coherent plan for a multi year long plot line and subsequent winging and fizzling out. He should've stuck to SOL which made EtR popular in the first place until actually figuring out what he wanted to do. Because of him we now have the worst of both worlds.
>>153185997I've seen this joke before.
>Marketable plushie joke
>>153186033it would be ideal to turn into an 'all dogs go to heaven' type animated movie. i think a movie would be a better idea than a series, because frankly none of the side characters are interesting enough to warrant that level of focus.i mean, what can dennis even do that would be interesting or surprising? sell emmy out for money? not sell her out because he's a secretly wholesome guy archetype? kill himself?
>>153185997The arm should be held on with magnets and detachable.
>>153185997is this real? the series was somewhat grounded with no magical girl transformations, this feels like a bad fan comic from a gag-a-day author
>>153188162>because frankly none of the side characters are interesting enough to warrant that level of focus.This. Emmy the Robot always suffered from this complication because no one cares about the human owners of the nandroids. The only draw was Emmy and the dynamics with her coworkers like Franny and such. But now that the comic is forced to omit the other nandroids the story became objectively worse. The Non Nandroids aren't interesting be they human or robots.
>>153186277Isn't she the main baddie?
>>153188659as a non fan who read the comic recently, I think the objectively most well thought out and artistically resonant part of the story was the family going through some growing pains and development after they start feeling Emmy's absence. It felt like the closest the comic comes to actually being about something, and it genuinely is a very unique perspective for a family story since its not like you get a lot of stories about nannies or the impact they actually have on a family. The stuff with the poor robots and urchin kid in the foster's home is cute, but doesn't feel as fully realized. The main thing the story's lacking is momentum. There's no sense of "our main character needs to do this soon or there's going to be consequences". Maybe she's got to get back to her family or sterling because of some ticking clock plot device like she'll permanently shut down. It feels like the fact that she's just kind of hanging out is actively taking something away from the story. It really feels like something that would work better as a dense movie or single volume of a book than an ongoing thing.
>>153188752I'll also add, there's structural issues with the story, but it being a free webcomic means its the nature of the beast for it to just take forever for anything to happen since its probably this guy's side project. In this economy, if anything its probably losing him money to continue making this instead of focusing on work with more of a financial incentive. So no shit its going to be more flawed and incomplete than if he locked in on it.
>>153185997Dom's really been giving her a lot of ass focus recently.
>>153187849He should have pitched this as a show because its pacing is better suited for that then an actual comic
>>153188752>It really feels like something that would work better as a dense movie or single volume of a book than an ongoing thing.i think dom should make it into a graphic novel. if he downplayed the gay parents, the story's family friendly enough that kids would buy it and public libraries would stock it. then you have something more outwardly respectable to market yourself with.
>>153188752The best consequence for Emmy is realizing that she's due to being replaced. She's gone for a long time from her family and they are rich enough to get another nandroid. And remember Emmy and her line of robots are all prototypes so they are all doomed to being replaced by Sterling from the beginning. Unlike other robots who break down and become outmodes Sterling designed first generation nandroids to intentionally be replaced in due time no matter how well maintained they keep themselves. The fear of being replaced is something that should loom over Emmy's head and same to the other first generation nandroids. Its literally an inescapable fate because they are not peak technology.
>>153187849>artist doesn't want to follow the half baked story he set out literal years agothis is the fate of all webcomics
>>153188806they could replace her with Emmy 2.0 and the ticking time element would be seeing if the kid will actually notice she's been replaced
>>153188828The parents seem to like Emmy a lot as well, though.
>>153188828The bigger ticking time element is even a replacement for Emmy is going to get replaced. The thing all nandroids suffer from is they are not perfected technology. This is why they will always run the risk of being replaced by the next better model. That should be the universal trauma and fear all nandroids have.
>>153188869If I had to redo the story I'd probably just simplify it by turning it into a roadtrip gone wrong story. Family loses her on a trip somewhere, and she has to physically journey and meet different characters peewee's big adventure style to reunite with them. Its more generic, but with the themes of the story (upper class family realizing that their nanny took care of them in more ways than they took for granted, nanny trying to make up for what she sees as an unforgiveable slip up) It feels like her meeting different people that help her to ease up and be more human, and her family being fish out of water trying to find her, would be a better structure.
>>153186022I stopped caring about it yrs ago when it became apparent the author didnt know how tf he wanted to progress the story
>>153188799thats poofiness of her dress you permavirgin.
Seems to me most of the audience wanted this to be some Chikn Nugget tier comfort slop with cute robot girls doing cute robot girl things. Nothing wrong with that but I also don't hate the author for just doing what he wants with it instead.
>>153189000Fair point, butt...
>>153186022I'm reminded it exists every now and then and read a bunch of episodes.
>>153185997Seems like the right size to hollow out and put a fleshlight
>>153187849Should've embraced the horny and focused on waifu maid bots more.
>>153188799Reminder: she canonically has boobs. (Or, at least, her chest is molded into having curves).
