There were genuinely great parts though, like the best beats Illumination has ever come up with but they needed better writing to punch them up and make them feel more natural and weave into each other. I feel like 1 more rewrite could have fixed it. Still kind of interested to see what they would do for a third one. I enjoyed myself even if it could've been much better. The Peach and Mario stuff was really well done though and I liked Yoshi. The Nintendo fans acting like it's perfect are as bad as the critics saying it's a 1/5 star movie.
