This is a blatant anti-consumer practice that they've somehow fooled themselves into seeing as a noble milestone in indie animation. It's so dishonest to present it as if the cinemas were being unreasonable when you have all the power to just have it come out after it's available on the internet. But they were pushing for it to come out before the web release for some reason.
The people who do go out and see it early are going to have to share the experience with a bunch of rabid fans who'll freak out and talk over everything. So it won't even be fun for them at the end of the day.

Oh okay so everything is forgiven, thank you Glitch for giving us the privilege to pay for not getting spoiled.

what the fuck happened to us all where the show we enjoy blew up to the point of being in literal theaters, and we're pissed about it?

this has the potential to swing the power of animation towards creatives instead of being all what exec fucks greenlight, the problem EVERYONE is complaining about... and you want to fuck that up because you can't stay off twitter for 2 fucking weeks, let alone won't pay to see it in a theater?

did you all just... forget about zaslav destroying the animation industry? they finally claw that back... and you want to fuck that all up?

what the fuck is wrong with you people it's like you hate animation
>>
>>153197912
why do you think literally everyone can go see it in those select theaters? and yeah, with something like this avoiding spoilers for 2 weeks is a big ask. you won't just have to stop using shitter, you won't even be able to pop up youtube without "BIG LEAKED ENDING" spoilers on the homepage.

im not involved in this discourse but it's retarded how people never really think about the reasons the opposing side has an opinion.

That's your fault for using youtube's first party interface

don’t be naive. this is for the benefit of one company, which is their business.

>this has the potential to swing the power of animation towards creatives

Now all I wish is that creatives didn't suck, we are in a mini golden age of people with polished ideas, but the moment this becomes a format to deliver animation to fans it will become a scam gold rush similar to Kickstarter or worse a slow burn to extract as much funds as possible from tweens.

Mark my words, this model will be exploited.

I think you put too much faith in a bunch of troons writing tumblrina fanfiction and release them in a bunch of theaters in america. There is nothing groundbreaking.

the fact that you're trying to prop up your dumb tranny trauma clown cartoon as the "hero of animation" goes to show that Zaslav was based and correct yet again

The latter is what allowed TADC to exist you retard.

I don't enjoy this show, though. I want it to be a 65 episode weekly show where there's like 10 episodes in between all the episodes that actually came out from a whole team of writers. Just like Storm Hawks or Teen Titans or Global Rule 15. As-is, there's just not enough substance for me to cling to.

>Its not our fault, theaters are forcing 2 weeks

Next you'll learn that their merch isn't lovingly made by a dedicated staff of Australian grandmas, but actually made in a Chinese sweatshop for below minimum wage (if any).

Honestly what's preventing them from releasing on theaters but also have the episode "accidentally" leak on youtube the same night? Could theater owners even sue them if it's impossible to prove it wasn't genuine human error?
>>
>>153208476
>Could theater owners even sue them
Yes.
>but what if---
Yes.
>>
>>153197912
The issue is that this 'release' is in a few select theatres in a few select states in one country on Earth and - sadly - the fans of the show are around the world, not just the USA. Like, even if they got a couple of screens in the capital cities of the more relevant English speaking nations, that could at least have them going 'Well, we tried'. Instead they get a big fat pay cheque to basically have paypigs turn up to events.

Scientist Man was right. You should just make a film or show and then sell it at the cinema for $1000+ per ticket and you'll probably make more money from the few die-hard fans coming to see it than you would trying to appeal to all of them. Cater to the 1%, rather than the rest.
>>
>>153199009
To be fair, I remember coming on /co/ and somebody had posted a thread about Episode 3 of Adepta Soroitas: Penitence and basically spoiled the entire ending by greentexting stuff. Literally on the day it came out. It took me a day to get the download from a safe source.

So, you could easily see some fans being mad that they essentially have to stay off all social media and websites because they likely have follows/mentions (I dunno how twitter or facebook work) so it'll all pop up in their feed or status or whatever. So they end up seeing it by accident.
>w-w-well just stay off then!
Well the thing is people use social media for other things other than one specific thing they like. Going off social media, for some people, for weeks means missing out on lots of things, not just trying to avoid spoilers for a show.

I don't really care because if something gets spoiled then it gets spoiled, just like I said, I just shrugged and carried on.
>>
>>153195521
The only way they can get it on theaters is if they release the episode on YouTube later, since no one would go to watch it on theaters if it's immediately available for free, and even then, they had to fight fo it, the theaters wanted a month of exclusivity.
