Was it a bad idea to split the Autobot team into two, with Elita on Cybertron and Optimus Junior on Earth? Seems like that will split the story time (and fanbase) in half, making both less coherent.

But it's got less power imbalance as they're both about the same in terms of rank and file.The brain hijacking plot was one of my favorites and I think the franchise could do more with the bad guys more than Power Rangers level bossing around. It's why Lugnut and Blitzwing trying to find Megatron in Animated works so well. Seeing them somehow pull off a win is the most interesting part of a pair up. Over just being bossed around by Megatron and being comedic relief like the JP properties.
