Was the transition from Nick to Disney really as bad as people make it out to be? Are the Disney episodes worth watching?
Disney dug never scored red gold. You tell me.
>>153205097Disney version was more silly and outright cartoonish, Roger became super rich, and the thicc girl lost weight.
>>153205205Hm, yeah, I can see why people wouldn't like that if they preferred the grounded slice of life of the Nick version.
>>153205205>>153205357The contrast because Doug's reality and imagination is what made the show. The real world was always quirky in Nick, but it went too far in Disney especially with the movie.
>>153205404i think the movie is fine, is the actual show where it doesn't work. You are expecting something ground-breaking from a movie, specially if it's not canon.
>>153205458There were a lot of episodes in the last season, teasing the lake monster. It's unfortunately canon.
>>153205097>1Yes>2NoDisney Doug has absolutely none of the charm of the Nick version.
>>153205097Disney Doug made Connie lose all her curves.I cannot thing of a better indication of something turning to abhorrent shit than that.
Nick Doug was far more memorable. If you want something akin to Doug that was actually good, I would suggest watching Pepper Ann. It's disappointing how such a good underrated cartoon would have it's creators go on to make a pile of dogshit like Angela Anaconda.Back on Doug, everything was far better in the Nicktoon. Writing, voice acting, themes that actually tackled social issues older kids and teens might experience in a funny way rather than be wacky scenarios that are far more roved from reality. While I wouldn't say Disney's version was the worst thing ever, it hardly kept me watching it with any interest when I was a kid. Thankfully, Hey Arnold did a decent job filling in that spot of slice of life, feel good kids cartoon with some social issues and deeper undertones.
