Really Batman shouldn’t have any issue beating most of his villains thanks to all the skills he’s been given to keep up with the Justice League. In the Golden/Silver Age his traning was just going to college and lifting a lot, not training with ninjas and Tunisian knife fighters or whatever. They stopped being able to make make Penguin a convincing threat 30 years ago and just made him run a nightclub

She's LGBT coded and even does a drag-ish routine in the episode to the inexplicable delight of her audience. Physically the character is more of a brute than any other version of Cobblepot and for a canonically 70 year old 'woman' they put up a hell of a fight. And her relationship with her sons just comes off as a knock off of Mom from Futurama.

Went into the show without any idea what was gonna happen. Thought she was penguin's henchwoman or something, didn't know it was a genderswap.Then I saw black Gordon and Babs and was like, yeah fuck this. I was "fine" with a black catwoman in other shows/movies, which they made back to white in this show, but this is infuriating. Gave up after 2 episodes.Then I heard some shit about what they did with Harley, which I don't even wanna remember, and was glad I dropped this. Hate my coworker still for recommending this shit

>>153218321yeah a lot of people blow that point. When he's written ok he usually doesn't struggle all that much physically, at least not 1v1. Most of the better Batman stories are about him stopping the villains before people get hurt or preventing the next heist or finishing a case to prove something. Even the likes of Bane made sure to wear him down before their confrontation and that's somebody who was physically superior. IMO one of the most interesting things about Batman was how different the crimes could be which necessarily required his versatile skillset. The approach to finally nailing somebody like Penguin was different from a Joker who was different from a Freeze
