I think we are not supposed to know about the significance of "Dreamkeepers" until more is revealed later. It is entirely possible it does not even matter what the original premise was, maybe what "dream keeper" means will be retconned in some way.

From what anon told me here, Anduranna's the Mirror Universe constructed by the subconscious of every living being (kinda like how Phantomile were created from the dreams of its inhabitants), and its purpose was to be the barrier between the Demons and the Real world (demons being Nightmares, who wanted to destroy the Universe because it gave them pain an misery). They made a huge mistake lore dumping something that have little to no impact of the story; otherwise, we could've have a human stranded in Anduranna as their DreamKeeper's shadow and the story should've been about getting them back to the real world where they belong.
