He's back to 100% for the rest of the issue after somebody else distracts Darkseid and allows him a 1 1/2-minute breather...yet a non-super clown with a knife can keep him out of action for a week. Grievous bodily injury in a fight is what we call "stakes". You may see it as "childish", but that's just what western comics have conditioned you to think. Super strength and normal durabilities don't play well together. Like the song says "If this disturbs you, then walk away".
