I haven't watched the movie yet, only seen some scenes and are all the fights in it this anime-like? I always liked the show's bending because what was happening with the element being bent was directly tied to the body's movements and this would influence what the bender could do in certain environments or how they'd use their surroundings to their advantage and it also gave a sense of weight to the fights. What I've seen so far looked more like it came out of JJK or something like that.

The third act was bad. The lore that was added is self-contained for the movie, which makes one think "what is the point of this?" The villain turning into some kind of Hulk knock off reminds me of the worst of Korra and the worst offense is the transition from bending to just shooting energy lasers. Taking out all of the martial arts and replacing it with the most generic attacks in animation. Just compare it to the ending of ATLA: human villains, bending is super powered but still behaves within the martial arts frame of the universe and the ending ties together with the rest of the show. I have positives to say as well but I needed to harp on how disappointing the last act of the movie was.
