Him finally having sex and getting stuck alone with the end results seemed a lot more apt. It'd be one thing if the aftermath of getting shut out of Nikki's life after getting her pregnant left him longing for fatherhood, but with Dermott's age and the boys missing a few years from cloning delays, the timeline doesn't add up in that regard. The original boys would've already been toddlers by the time he fucked Nikki.
