I think the crude art style is one reason, but modern audiences also want their cartoons to be really hyper and in-your-face with their humour. Kiff's humour is a bit calmer by comparison. That might be the South African influence coming out.

Those are all kinda not a thing now when shows get dropped in batches for streaming. If Kiff came out over 10 years ago it might be different.Then again maybe Kiff is an acquired taste for some (all anons here have good taste).
