>>153260011Blind bag shit sucks. This is a cover I'd want, but I'm not going to buy 20 blind bags in hopes that I pull it, and I know whatever scalpers get them are going to open the market at like $200 per copy. I might buy one blind bag because a buck or two more over normal cover price isn't bad for a book I'm probably buying anyways, but otherwise this is a curse. Marvel's not going to know whether or not I bought a blind bag or open order cover once it gets to my shop.
>>153261388I saw a youtube video of someone who bought $300 worth of Daredevil blind bags, so sadly they're probably going to star doing this even more now.
>>153261528I wonder if it'll kill the artist exclusive/retailer exclusive/ratio market. I'd imagine from a business perspective, it's better for Marvel or DC to sell blind bags to shops that'll buy more guaranteed copies to cater to speculators. And maybe better for the artist up front if they make a particularly popular cover.
>>153261669Why do we need covers. Dies a good story not sell anymore
>>153262884You can't see the story for a pre-order. Also that requires making a good story.
>>153260011Ah yes cutting off the spider like that totally looks good...holy fuck has DNA ever made shit that doesn't look like a template or boring? Also her pelvis area might be anatomically correct (Idk) but I dunno it looks off. Oh and the boobs are unappealing and her hands are conveniently hidden away and don't even look like she is trying to splash anything. Realistic stiff art looks like trash when it comes to these characters and 2-D if your style is boring. >>153261388Barring the blind bags, and the fact that I'm THE She-VenoMJ enjoyer, this cover sucks. What is with all the shit taste when it comes to variant covers lately? Weird. Like, I know this is subjective taste but seriously? How is it that people would pay more than usual for a cover like this?I guess the concept carries it since those seem to always sell a bit more even when most of them are shit designs by artists who never try too hard when it comes to She-VenoMJ. >>153261528Utter madness. Imagine investing in comics like these when you could go for infinitely better assets than fucking comics nobody will value in 10 years. Even if Marvel goes belly up and they stop making comics by then, these aren't even good enough to be remembered.>>153262966Not that anon but yup. I'm surprised they didn't kill the exclusives/ratio variants yet. It still necessitates putting in effort to come up with a tabloid idea for a story/event and then having to market. The bottom can always go lower at the house of......what were they called again? Seems like I'm missing a part of the name. Oh yes, ideas. Hmm...sounds costly and hard. Better do more twitter outrage grifting and smug posts. Yes, editorial definitely has job security.
>>153260011moar like mary jane kwab
>>153262884Answering seriously, while my opinion is changing, it's fun to look at covers and bag and board them like collecting a trading card, whereas there's too many ways to go back and read the story inside without damaging the book. I can go back and read these books on Marvel Unlimited, or more realistically, a piracy site. So the only value of owning a comic anymore is more or less the cover.>>153263086 >Barring the blind bags, and the fact that I'm THE She-VenoMJ enjoyer, this cover sucks. What is with all the shit taste when it comes to variant covers lately? Weird. Like, I know this is subjective taste but seriously? How is it that people would pay more than usual for a cover like this?Honestly, if it weren't for the fact I like the VenoMJ pairing more than you, and some degree of coomer covers, I also kinda agree this cover isn't the best. Paying a few dollars more isn't a big deal. If it's rare and you feel exclusive for owning it, fine. As a side thing, I don't think a real She-Venom looks that good, and wouldn't be buying those covers, so we have to agree to disagree. >Utter madness. Imagine investing in comics like these when you could go for infinitely better assets than fucking comics nobody will value in 10 years."Investing" is a bad term. I typically buy things I like, not to flip them later. Every once in a while I buy something I think will skyrocket in value, but 90% of my modern collection is purely for me, not for profit.
>>153263535>liking the pairing more than meImpossible.>I don't think a real-She-Venom looks that goodInsanity. That symbol is good on many bodies but a female one where it gives it depth due to cleavage is good in it's own way even if simplicity is the strength of it. Yes, Venom (regular) makes it look good flat because it just helps in the simplicity but She-Venom is good in it's own right and the eyelashes added as well are kino. Yes, perhaps She-VenoMJ could use differentiators like large 80's tentacle hair, a biker jacket look, or some other touches like white arm-length gloves and thigh highs, etc. could work better for her. But nah, She-Venom in a basic form is great and I don't see how it can be ugly like that. It would be the artist's fault. >feel exclusive for owning itEh...that feeling is something I relish only if I truly enjoy the product on its merits.>investingYeah I didn't direct that at you, I just meant the people who buy blindbags described by that anon.
