Why did they do it? Did they really thought no one would notice it?
>>
yes
>>
yeah
>>
Yes, and they were right. Do you know how hard it is to freeze a specific frame on VHS without half the image being warped?

As with everything in this world, the answer probably is "they thought it would be funny"
And they were right

he didn't say that

remember when that was people's motivation? better times.
>>
>>153262001
given how long it took anyone to find out? Yeah. That's exactly what they thought.

That's nothing. There are several frames during the scenes where Penny's being carried upside down by Brutus where it looks like they sneakily drew in her slit or nipples.
I'm convinced that the image in OP was only added as a way to draw attention away from these scenes.

OP must've forgotten that The Rescuers screened an X-rated cut in theaters that somehow made it onto a handful of home video copies by mistake. What you saw was the X-rated version.

It's a little comforting to know that people in the animation industry were perverts and pedos even back then.
>>
>>153262001
>I did not grow up in a world where home media wasn't a thing and watching something in theaters was the only option (and theaters would not pause your movie)
>>
>>153263352
Honestly, that is not perverted unless you are perverted.
>>
>>153263577
even on VHS going frame by frame wasn't really possible without some super expensive professional grade VCR
>>
>>153263623
True! Only animation addicts (who would actually do research on what's coming out, and try to watch everything) would spend their hard earned money on an expensive VCR.

The same people would also tape everything off TV, and sometimes are the only reason we have so many things preserved today.

That is just seeing faces in the clouds.
>>
>>153262001
To this day the culprit behind it has still never been found.
>>
>>153264846
I know, but it was one of those things that kept being thrown back and forth back in the day. If you want something really dumb check out the Monster inc drawing hoax
>>
>>153263303
it was the 70s, dude. it was normal to draw anatomy in situations where clothes are coming off.
>>153263352
also I see neither genitalia nor nipples in either of these.
>>153263597
thank you. fuckin weirdasses making kids feel like walking cheese pizza just for HAVING bodies under their clothes. any wonder they all became sluts when phones came out, then the next gen was all neuters.

It was most likely background artist Annie Gunther who was egged on by her peers to slip in something dirty. And yeah, back when you could only see Disney movies in theaters, nobody noticed.
>>
>>153262001
How would anyone have noticed during its original theatrical release? The ability to rewind and pause the movie at will wouldn't be a thing until the film released on VHS a whole 15 years later
>>
>>153262305

Zoom in on the comic in that image. You can see it's the same as the other anon posted you blind motherfucker

Reminder: Betty Boop's animators sliped a single line on top of Betty's overalls in the short Betty Boop's Kerchoo in order to give the impression that her vulva was on display.

So what else is new? Reminder that this was a pun-up poster sent by the Disney Company for soldiers serving in WW2.

She was found.
It was a background painter who put it there during post-production.
Why? Guess she just wanted to have a laugh.
She passed away in 2017.
