I'm surprised this design of Toyman didn't last longer in the comics, it's top-tier.

It literally just got folded into the comics as Toyman's Pinocchio-esque son a few issues ago in Superman Unlimited.

Kinda disappointed it reveals what's inside

I've always thought it looked like shit.
Too much toy, not enough man, I prefer when he looks like a toymaker.
Jack Nimball is also a good look imo since he's still clearly a guy with a toy-theme, the DCAU one is just kind of a boring creepy boy, looks more like something Toyman would make, not Toyman himself.

Why did Winslow made robots of Hiro and Jack?

He needed them to complete the set, you know how /toy/fags are.

Slott style is characterized as in "Never meet your heroes" type of vibe of all his comics.

Another DCAU villain like Clock King who's never as cool in subsequent appearances as the first.
