So Genndy really had no idea where to take Primal S3 huh? The zombie idea had a bit of legs but when he took it back to Spear's family and then somehow gave him full resurrection it all felt really arbitrary and like it made killing him in the first place unnecessary. I really can't hate a happy ending for Spear but I was really surprised we got that, not bittersweet in the slightest. Him protecting his family one last time was good thematically but still the whole season was weird. Again I wish we got better monsters to face.
dump
Its the same problem Samurai Jack had in season 5 where the ending was really unsatisfying so he retconned it. I still think the final monster should have been a dragon.
>>153278230>So Genndy really had no idea where to take Primal S3 huh?he did have an idea, he wanted to make it an anthology, but y'all fucking hated it and wouldn't stop bitching so he revived spear instead.
Thank goodness for that, God I love being a hater
>>153278230>>153279277I liked Primal S3 more than I thought I would. The happy ending definitely surprised me, but I do hope this is the last we see of Spear and his family. There's not exactly anywhere new to take things, so might as well move forward with that anthology concept finally.
I'm glad then, cause I liked the ending more than like his past 4.
>>153279277He wanted to make an anthology and his ideas weren't working, gaslight-kun.
i was enjoying this season but my interest started to drop off so i still need to watch the last 2 episodes. i just don't see a way where they can meet the highs of the first season while using the same characters. i would imagine that telling a new story with new characters every season or two would have been a better route to take, rather than the anthology proposal
>>153282134I think he still wants to make it an anthology, but he felt like he couldn't leave the S2 ending as-is. Not only did fans dislike it, I get the impression that after it aired he started to dislike it too. So if S4 is greenlit, it's probably going to an anthology, or at least new characters. Unless a CN executive starts making demands, I guess.
>>153285163He said S4 would definitely be an anthology if they get one.
>>153278230>So Genndy really had no idea where to take Primal S3 huhhe said:>“I’m like, ‘Oh, sh**. Well, what am I going to do now?’” he remembered. "And then this idea came up of him being a zombie. What resonated with me about it, is it brought in a new emotional aspect [to the story], because it’s the character that we love. He’s back, but in a different form, and will the audience cheer for him to return to who he is, or is this the new future of Spear? So, all those dynamics made it super-interesting and my gut was like, ‘Yeah, this is the way to go with it.’”
>>153287153And it was kino, and turned into the best ending he's done yet.
>>153278230wow thats a lotta teef
>>153287180I agree, this whole turn of events is extremely stupid and short-sighted, but it was kino, so who cares.
>>153289181Why, the better to rip off Spear's flesh with!
PRIMAL THEORY>>>>>S1>S2(1/2)>S3>S2(2/2)
Huh??? What?? What is primal even about man
>>153294805A caveman and a dinosaur, bonded by tragedy, must survive in a savage world. At least until next season, when it will be about other people surviving in a savage worldIf you're asking about the egyptians, it's a lost world situation, there's all kinds of shit in there.
>>153292557Season 2B really did kind of lose itself, huh?
