So, after this year there won't by any more Omnibus or Epics.
>>153284174Is there any actual proof of that or is that just because you heard David Gabriel got fired and was a champion of these lines
>>153284220That and Cory Sedlmeier leaving earlier. He oversaw the restoration for Masterworks line. MMW got canned last year. Omnis and Epics used the MMW files for reprinting. Now David Gabriel is gone. Taschen, Fantagraphics, Clover Press, Abrams, and now Dark Horse are licensing Marvel comics for their own collected editions.
I still want that Masterworks cancellation to have been a bad joke.
>>153284365>Taschen, Fantagraphics, Clover Press, Abrams, and now Dark Horse are licensing Marvel comics for their own collected editions.Whichever one finishes MITO will have a customer for life.
>>153284174Hate all these and think they look like shit so I'm happy. Looking forward to other companies doing this better
>>153284553I doubt Taschen will ever reach anything post-silver age. Fanta and DH are doing obscure magazine collections, best of collections of artists and characters, Clover does newspaper comics and Abrams new graphic novels. You'll never see these regular comics reprinted again.
>>153284174This seems extraordinarily unlikely to me.Omnis are the new funko-pops with performative faggots buying them all up to put on their shelves when they do their faggot youtube channel or podcast or whatever. It's slop-collector bait which, I assume, is now the bulk of Marvel consumers. There's a much better chance of Epics going away which would be a shame because they're my preferred way of reading comics. Portable but bulky enough to not feel obnoxious buying a TPB with only 5 issues in it.
>>153284590There will be many more reprints as Marvel shifts away from comics and just license shit out. But if not that's fine by me too.
>>153284596Plus I think the omnibus sales are what is allowing Marvel to have a high dollar share in the Bookscan chart even while they weren't charting on the Top 750 so it's in their best interest to keep driving the hype for it
>>153284220As if DC and Image aren't putting out omnis without Gabriel working there.
>>153285071DC and Image aren't firing their print staff.
>>153284596>There's a much better chance of Epics going away which would be a shame because they're my preferred way of reading comics. Portable but bulky enough to not feel obnoxious buying a TPB with only 5 issues in it.The only main thing I could see pointing to Epics going away is just how long they sit on Amazon compared to OmnisAnd considering how the Frank Miller Daredevil sold out maybe theyre printing less too
>>153284220>>153284365To even do the Epics the mapping had to be done from the start. Not to be a dick, but I don't see how he's hugely necessary. And frankly how much is left to remaster? I'm not trying to be a dick, but huge batches of the Golden and Silver Age have to be done. All of the core main books at least. Most things really. There's still work to do, but other companies commission this work out.
>>153285878Hell, DC is basically just recovering from years of utterly mismanaged reprints.
>>153284394Same, I'm upset they pulled the plug just as they were getting into Simonson's Thor run.
Who's that Youtuber who has the polls for Epic reprints Has he chimped out about this yet, if he doesn't I wouldn't worry cause he'd get a lot of views by chimpping out. Is that two ps or just one p

>>153284174Sad!
>>153287704DC's collected department is in incredible shape now.
>>153294308Yeah>compendiums>compact>DC finestThis shit is gold
>>153294478I could do without compacts. Never understood this pocket book size for regular comics.
>>153294962>I don't understand it so it shouldn't existWhy are you like this? Why can't you let others have things? Why do you hate so much?
>>153294962They're cheaper, they're for the manga crowd. >>153295017That's an extreme overreaction to a pretty mild statement.
>>153295017>>153295023waste of paper
