What does /co/ think of Johnny Bravo? It hardly gets any discussion here, and on the rare occasion it's just a few posts. Does it hold up?
Seasons 1 and 4 suck.Seasons 2 and 3 are hilarious. >but muh creator's visionVan Partible has a great style and he came up with a great character and concept, but you can't tell me he was all that funny. You can tell he struggled to make a full series out of his own cartoon considering his reliance on celebrity guests and that stupid jungle boy character.

I much prefer the art style and humor of S1. S2/3 ruined Johnny's personality and Carl was annoying as fuck. Never watched S4 so I can't comment.
>>153289353Wrong, season 1 is the best - the humour was smarter and recognized it was a parody of a parody (hence the guest stars, and come on, Johnny meets Farrah Fawcett? or Adam West? how can you not love that), plus the style was a lot more distinctive, simpler, more efficient, and the exaggerated use of perspective looked great. See how he reaches into the screen, making his front arms way larger, his back ones smaller. Also it rarely showed Johnny's mouth, which made his facial emotions significantly more distinctive.Season 2/3 had crappier designs and turned Johnny into a complete moron, like, actually mentally deficient; season 1 just had him single mindedly obsessed but not outright retarded. And season 2/3 humour was just "Ow my balls" levels of stupid. Also, Carl.Haven't seen Season 4, but the Bollywood special was embarrassingly poor with maybe two good jokes that I can recall.
>>153290211>how can you not love thatI didn't love it because it was boring. There were no actual jokes. Even Family Guy put Adam West to better use.>Also, Carl.No worse than Donny Osmond or jungle boy.
>>153290293>No worse than Donny Osmond or jungle boy. They weren't in every episode and weren't as obnoxious as possible.>I didn't love it because it was boring.oh, okay, you are simply uncultured. gotcha.
>>153290361>oh, okay, you are simply uncultured. There's literally nothing funny about those guest star episodes if you don't already who they are. It's purely referencial humor. As a kid, I had no idea who Farrah Fawcett or Adam West were so the episodes fell flat.As an adult, they were just a waste of good set-ups. Again, even Family Guy gave Adam West a role that wasn't just 'member Batman 66.
