Really sceptical about the tone because of the "I'm so sad :(" expressions in the trailer. The basic fantasy conceit is fine and mixing up pastiches of wildly different video games might be fun but if it takes itself too seriously it's probably going to be tedious, but that sort of shit is mistaken for sophistication and is popular.

These other shows are all dark violent action and drama shows. If they were smart they would greenlight one with mass appeal and 2 that were weird experiments. Gaslight and Guinevere and Gameoverse are all just as niche and weird and I don't think it will translate much into sales. If I was an exec I would be raising an eyebrow at this line-up from the lack of marketability. I know indie is about just making the shows no one would make but at some point you gotta make stuff that will have wide-appeal. One of these shows is probably not gonna make it all the way though. And that's just business imo. But artists don't really want to hear that.

There's plenty of cartoons where they are making fun of other styles or sending them up and the characters look similar but still stand on their own. These designs are just all uninspired and blocky. Like they are too Newgrounds for their own good and they weren't willing to get really outside the box with them.
