Wikipedia is wrong.To your question, Joe Shuster was the more competent artist, though neither he nor Bob Kane were anywhere close to Jack Burnley or Fred Ray at DC. While Siegel was no hack as a writer, Bill Finger has the bigger body of respected work.Which was the better initial comic? Depends on your taste. I prefer Detective #27, but since it was plagiarized from a Shadow story, some people might downgrade it.
Action Comics is impressive in how fully formed it is. You get the base aspects even if things like the Kents, Jimmy, etc haven't been added.I love how there's a whole countdown to how long Superman takes to save the wrongfully convicted woman's life. They get the Lois and Clark dynamic down immediately. You get Superman's brand of justice and his personality immediately. Just really impressive overall.
