How quickly does TMNT 2003 go downhill? I'm on season 2 right now and I thought the space stuff was kinda goofy.
>>
I have season 4 as the best season and Season 5 as bad enough to stop watching. And I hear everything else after that is quite bad so i would stick with it unless you really hate aliens.

Is he the best character in all of TMNT? My zoomer friends say Shredder is cooler but I think he's very one dimensional.

Season 5 is a nice conclusion, but I wouldn't call it a good season. The ending is good though. 6 and 7 are bad

That would be Bishop

isn't season 7 basically a different show?
>>
The biggest critique of the show is Fast Forward and Back to the sewers. Maybe Season 5 which was a "lost" season initially not aired on TV in favor of FF. It's considered a bit of a disappointment since it shifts almost to a shonen action style plot but without the polish of the better ones.
There are 155 episodes. Between those 3 seasons, it's 51 episodes of the series. Which still leaves you with 104 episodes in the good seasons, which is like double some show's episode counts.

Back to the Sewers tried to go back to the original roots after the failure that was Fast Forward

Season 5 is when shit goes south, but it does end the series decently enough. Fast Forward and Back to the Sewer are easily skippable.
>>
i thought season 5 got a bit hokey, but it was still an ok season.
you can just straight up skip fast forward
YMMV with back to the sewers, some nice stuff, some straight up bad.

I really should rewatch this, I remember season 5 being pretty terrible and Fast Forward being a pure shark jump moment.
>>
I like Fast Forward but I had the DVD as a kid.

The kid I babysat only had Fast Forward on DVD, and I loved it. I'm guessing if that is the case, then the rest of the show will blow my load?

Only until fast forward.

Season 5's mystic ninja stuff is just tiring shonen tropes of the heroes gathering the McGuffins just for the villains to steal them and summon the big bad. Splinter has a nice arc, but the dragon forms are dogshit.
I see Fast Forward as the Spider-Man Unlimited of the series. Weird direction following a successful show due to executive meddling and demand for new toys, but the end result is still good. Loved the Evil Alien Mutant Turtles and alienLeo's tiny redemption arc, also the ep with future Stockman trying to kill Bishop. Yes the kid sidekick sucks tho.
Back to the Sewers is just boring and the Cyber Shredder stuff is lame. I can only remember the Rat King episode as the sole good one worth watching.

>downhill means "too goofy"
You fundamentally misunderstand TMNT as a franchise, then.
>>
>>153302749
Fast Forward was them trying to do their best with a bad premise. Not that TMNT is any stranger to time travel plots, but you could see all the problems they were butting up against
>Send them to the future
>and give them a kid side kick!
>and invent a bunch of new villains that we can sell toys for!
>give them some transformations or power ups and maybe some special gadgets too!

Donnie > Raph > Leo > Mikey

Still good...then it shits itself with Fast Forward, then tries to wash some of the shit off with Back To The Sewers, but the shitty, simplified art from Fast Forward (God, that "young white kid added to the cast as a surrogate for the viewer" shit was annoying the FIRST time they did it in earlier cartoons, and they didn't learn their lesson from that) becomes the default style, so only a quarter of the shit's washed off.

Season 5, it just jumps the shark and takes the turtles way above street level. The triceraton stuff is goofy, but it was nice to have them adapted from the original comics.

Seems everyone here holds the same opinion. A rare feat for /co/.

It's not just that it's goofy it's that they spend the whole five part episode in space running away and jobbing and it's off the heels of the amazing three part episode with shredder. The dino guys aren't really interesting antagonists.
