Theres a part of me that thinks the state of western animation would have been forever changed if managed to make that middle ground of more edgy teen animated projects work like that Gen13 film. Not too adult but defiantly not for kids.

>>153304548I may not have read comics, but this is what I really hate most about smaller companies like Wildstorm and Malibu being bought by DC and Marvel. Big Two have little to no incentive to using characters like Caitlin when they already have thousands of their own in-house characters on hand. Both are practically sitting on those IP and letting them rot away into obscurity at this point. It reminds me of Disney buying up DIC and treating it like a redheaded stepchild compared to Disney's own library.At this point, the only options I could think of is either DC licensing Gen13 to another company like Renegade Comics or just sell Wildstorm altogether. Jim Lee himself doesn't really seem to care about anything beyond trying to push Grifter in the DCU, his only idea for Wildstorm as a brand seemed to be to keep going back to Warren Ellis, with diminishing returns.These companies just getting absorbed by larger companies that don't care about the characters does suck though. A similar thing happened with Disney buying Crossgen's entire library of characters just to get the rights to one of their books.
