I got on a Peanuts kick after the new movie was announced and I decided to binge all the AppleTV "Snoopy Presents" specials because I had never seen them before. And I gotta say...these are pretty darn good. They perfectly capture the charm of the original specials while also adding a lot of visual flair. My mom, who's a huge Peanuts fan and purist, really enjoyed them too. It's weird that no one really talks about these outside the niche Peanuts fan-spaces considering how huge this franchise is. Is it just because no one has the app?
>>153305278I had the app to watch/support wolfwalkers but I completely forgot to watch these. ( I just wanted to bump your thread because it seems nice)
>>153305415thank you
>>153305278compositors went HAM on these Apple TV specials, shit is gorgeous fr
>>153305278>Is it just because no one has the appyesi like peanuts but i haven't seen them yet
>>153305278From what I remember Marcie sounds like a thirty year old woman that smokes too much
>>153305278I think they're fine. My main issie though is that they lean a bit hard on the saccharine side of things with nowhere near enough of the cynical humor Peanuts is known for to balance it out. They're still solid overall though.
>>153310241My mom also said that they were too "sappy"
People don't like the Apple stuff because the kids aren't as mean anymore and they built a special around arguing that Lucy did nothing wrong.

>>153305278>They perfectly capture the charm of the original specialsIt's true. But somehow, I still didn't like it. Don't quite know why. I even thought at the time "this is as close to identical to the originals as it could be and certainly much, much closer that I could have imagined or expected… so why don't I like it?"
