They also missed an incredibly easy parallel between him and Jr. to Rosalina and the Lumas. Hell, they could've brought in Jr's motivation from Sunshine and had him kidnap Rosalina so he would have the universe's ultimate mom.

That’s why I was saying Bowser Hr. being the main antagonist was interesting, probably the most complex element of the film as a whole. I wish they delved more into how a redeemed father needs to reconcile with what he’s passed on to his kid so they can both be happy at the end, but the movie did an ok job at it.Rosalina and Peach being sisters was retarded though. I didn’t care much about Rosalina in the games, but I liked the tragic mystery of her origin and how she had to grow up to become a regent-mom that these weird creatures needed. I don’t know, there’s a mystery lore to her that Illumination sucks away just like they did to The Lorax and its characters..
